  • Patent number: 11540499
Abstract: A fishing lure is comprised of a blade member that is pivotably and slidably coupled to a two-leg wire form member. The first leg of the wire form member passes through a first aperture in the blade member, while the second leg of the wire form member passes through a second aperture in the blade member. The blade member is supported by the wire form member at solely the first and second aperture locations. If desired, the blade member can be removed and replaced without needing to bend the blade member. The lure remains in a generally upright position and the blade member exhibits a rapid oscillating movement as the lure is pulled forward in water.

  • Patent number: 10834909
Abstract: A fishing lure comprises a blade member pivotally coupled to a wire form member through only one mounting aperture. The wire form member is further coupled to a weighted member or a hook. When the lure is pulled forward, the wire form member exhibits a cyclically repeating swinging movement coinciding with cyclical impacts between the blade member and wire form member.

  • Patent number: 9485974
Abstract: A head cover for a jig fishing lure or combination jig and rotating member fishing lure is disclosed which can prevent a fish from directly contacting the hard, weighted jig head of the fishing lure. The head cover can be permanently attached to the fishing lure or it can be a separate removable member. The head cover can combine a soft, elastomeric membrane along with one or more fish-attracting elements. The head cover can also include a flat surface to orient the jig fishing lure at a different angle when resting on the bottom underwater surface.

  • Patent number: 9485975
Abstract: A fishing lure comprises a spinning blade that rhythmically changes its direction of rotation. One or more unique link members enable more than 360 degree of blade rotation yet limit the total amount of blade rotation in either direction. The rotating blade causes the link members to wind up until they momentarily stop the rotation of the blade, at which point a hydrodynamic torque still trying to rotate the blade causes the lure to undergo a slight twist motion. The wound-up link members then begin to unravel due to a remaining hydrodynamic force still incident on the forward-moving lure. This winding-and-unwinding cycle automatically repeats as the lure moves forward. The cyclically rhythmic and alternating blade rotations, along with the corresponding twitching motions, result in a unique swimming motion of the lure that more effectively attracts fish and better mimics the random swimming behavior of real life prey.

  • Patent number: 9078421
Abstract: A fishing lure consists of a hook and at least one bladed member having an aperture for slidably mounting the bladed member along the shank of the hook. The bladed member enables an oscillating-type swimming motion of the lure when the lure is retrieved by an angler. The shank comprises a generally acute-angle bend located substantially away from both the eyelet and the hook point, such that the inner edge of the aperture of the bladed member is hydrodynamically confined within the acute-angle bend during retrieval of the lure, thus preventing the oscillating movement of the bladed member from interfering with an adjacent lure component. Alternatively, a permanent or removable spacer member can be used to constrain the bladed member along a predetermined section of the hook shank. The resulting oscillating movement of the bladed member creates a unique and more lifelike swimming motion of the lure.

  • Patent number: 9072286
Abstract: A fishing lure consists of a body member and a flexible tail member. The tail member has a leading edge and a trailing edge, both extending from the body member and terminating at a common bend apex of the tail member. A wing feature is located adjacent to the common bend apex and is positioned between the leading edge and trailing edge. The wing feature is generally oriented such that the leading face of the wing feature is angled forward, or into the direction of oncoming water flow around the moving lure. The predetermined relative geometry of the tail member and wing feature enables a significant oscillating motion of the tail member while simultaneously and uniquely providing a means for the lure to swim either generally deeper or shallower, depending on an angler-chosen mounting orientation of the lure onto a pre-existing weighted hook.

  • Patent number: 9072285
Abstract: A fishing lure comprises a spinning blade that rhythmically changes its direction of rotation. One or more unique link members limit the cyclical amount of blade rotation in either direction. As the wound up link members pause the rotation of the blade, a hydrodynamic force still trying to turn the blade causes the lure body to undergo a slight twist motion. The wound up link members then begin to unravel from a remaining hydrodynamic force still incident on the moving lure. This is sufficient to start the blade spinning in the opposite direction until it is again rotatably limited by the link members and again imparts a twitch motion on the lure body. This cycle continues to repeat indefinitely as the lure moves at a generally constant speed. The cyclically rhythmic alternating blade rotations and the corresponding body twitch motions create lure behavior that better mimics real life prey.

  • Patent number: 9003690
Abstract: A line guiding spinner lure is comprised of a line guide coupled to a wire form member frame, with at least one hook and spinner attached. The line guide optimally routes the fishing line from the line attachment means of a first spinner lure to a second trailing lure, eliminating line entanglement during casting and preventing spinner interference during retrieval of a multi-lure rig. The line guide can be a separately attached part, or it can be formed from a section of the wire form member itself. The line guide can be made from a metallic, elastomeric, or plastic material. The line guide feature provides a means for an angler to easily rig a trailing lure at a desired distance behind a line guiding spinner lure, significantly increasing the probability for both attracting and catching multiple fish on a single cast.

  • Patent number: 9003689
Abstract: An improved cover for a pre-existing jig-type fishing lure comprises an elastomeric membrane which conceals a greater amount of the hard, weighted head of a pre-existing jig-type lure, as compared to prior art. One or more flap elements, a thin portion of the membrane located generally opposite a mount-enabling first aperture, a second aperture located generally opposite the mount-enabling first aperture, or a combination thereof, enables the improved cover to conceal more of the weighted head. The cover can be attached to or removed from the weighted head without having to break the line of an already-tied jig-type lure. The cover also enables fluttering fish attracting elements and the generation of acoustic stimuli while the lure itself remains stationary. The elastomeric membrane can further comprise a generally concave or flat surface to enable a pre-existing jig-type lure to exhibit an oscillating-type motion when retrieved.

  • Patent number: 8976957
Abstract: The present arrangements relate to a microphone boom assembly. A first microphone can be positioned proximate to a first aperture defined in a first side of the microphone boom through which acoustic signals propagate to the first microphone, and a second microphone can be positioned proximate to a second aperture defined in a second side of the microphone through which the acoustic signals propagate to the second microphone. The first microphone can be connected to a first side of a flexible printed circuit at a first location and the second microphone connected to a second side of the flexible printed circuit at a second location, the flexible printed circuit mounted into the microphone boom with a bend in the flexible printed circuit positioned between the first location and the second location.
