  • Publication number: 20210131458
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to packing nut locking apparatus and methods for fluid ends, and associated components thereof. In one implementation a fluid end apparatus includes a fluid end body having an outer surface, and one or more stay rods disposed at least partially externally to the outer surface of the fluid end body. The fluid end also includes one or more packing nuts, and a lock assembly. The lock assembly includes a first block in contact with the one or more stay rods, and a second block in contact with the one or more packing nuts.

  • Publication number: 20120199033
Abstract: Ammunition, consisting generally of a casing, propellant, projectile and primer, is entirely coated with a coating that renders the ammunition resistant to infiltration by moisture or deleterious matter, such as sand or salt, that have the effect of fouling the propellant or otherwise causing the ammunition to misfire or not fire properly. Methods of making ammunition in accordance with the invention are described.

  • Patent number: 6672219
Abstract: A low observable, brass ammunition cartridge casing with an exterior surface having a colored coating which renders the cartridge casing low observable. The colored coating may be deposited onto the exterior surface by various processes, such as electroplating, chemical deposition, and spray painting. The colored coating may be selected from a variety of different colors such as, black, olive green, silver, brown, tan, gray, and white. The colors are typically obtained using conventional pigments and colorants, such as metal oxides. The brass casing exterior surface may be roughened to reduce the gloss or sheen of the casing on the colored coating. The invention includes ammunition cartridges containing a low observable brass casing described above.

  • Publication number: 20030131751
Abstract: Subsonic and reduced velocity rifle ammunition cartridges are disclosed. The ammunition cartridges can be fired through a standard rifle with a common twist rate at subsonic and reduced velocities. The subsonic ammunition uses propellant that is not typically used with the selected rifle cartridge. Cycling subsonic ammunition cycles the firing and loading mechanisms of fully automatic and semiautomatic weapons. Cycling subsonic ammunition cartridges contain slow burning propellant, such as cannon powder, and a heavy projectile with a long bearing surface. Non-cycling subsonic ammunition uses moderately fast burning pistol propellant. The projectiles are carefully selected to be stable at subsonic or reduced velocities and at the standard rifle twist rate for given cartridge caliber.
