  • Publication number: 20140314639
Abstract: The invention provides a method for recovering scandium from scandium-containing intermediate products, formed during hydrometallurgical processing of scandium-containing feed materials, including: (a) leaching of the scandium-containing intermediate products with a suitable acid at a controlled pH selected to maximize scandium extraction and minimize the co-extraction of impurities, (b) solid/liquid separation, to obtain a scandium-containing leach solution; (c) selective precipitation of the scandium at a controlled pH from the scandium-containing leach solution using a suitable base, (d) solid/liquid separation, to obtain an upgraded scandium concentrate and a barren solution for return to the hydrometallurgical process. A further upgraded scandium concentrate can be obtained by (e) alkaline leaching of the upgraded scandium concentrate for additional removal of impurities, and (f) solid/liquid separation to obtain a further upgraded scandium concentrate and impurities-containing base solution.

  • Publication number: 20140173520
Abstract: A personal wireless navigation system operable on wireless phone devices provides a platform for empowering a merchant-paid search. Performance of a navigation functionality in a personal wireless navigation system is higher and more comparable and competitive with portable navigation devices and in-car navigation systems, and the search capability is comparable and competitive with the most popular web search engines. A user interface (UI) and look and feel of the personal wireless navigation system is provided which is enhanced so that users do not simply want to use the product—they covet it. The personal wireless navigation system may be constructed such that a subset of it with fewer features and functions can be productized, marketed and deployed to users.

  • Publication number: 20130143455
Abstract: Improvements in a warning mat are with a mesh reinforcement disclosed. The improvements include using recycled tire rubber allows for use of a material that is not used in a landfill and the warning mat. The tires are chopped into fine pellets or strips, metal belting material is usually removed and the rubber is combined with a binding agent to recombine the rubber elements while still leaving some air spaces that improve the cushioning effect of the warning mat. A mesh reinforcement of typically expanded metal is sandwiched into the rubber particles to bond through the openings of the expanded metal whereby encapsulating the mesh reinforcement within the warning mat. The mesh reinforcement is extremely dimensionally stable and maintains the dimensions of the warning mat. Fairly large sections of warning mat can be fabricated for transportation and installation.

  • Patent number: 7565418
Abstract: A network device setup utility gathers network configuration information at a computing device, displays network-device-installation instructions; and configures the network device by sending the gathered network configuration information from the computing device to the network device. The gathered network configuration information may include a type of Internet connection, such as DHCP, static IP, dynamic PPPoE, or Static PPPoE. The gathered network configuration information includes an Internet Service Provider account name and password. The network-device-installation instructions may include a customizable graphical depiction of the network device and may provide ordered step-by-step instructions for connecting a network cable and a power cable to the network device. Configuring the network device, which may be a router, may include confirming Internet connectivity.
