  • Publication number: 20240076968
Abstract: A flow control system for use in controlling flow of a fluid composition in a subterranean well is disclosed. The flow control system includes a flow chamber that includes an inlet and an outlet oriented such that the fluid composition flows circuitously through the chamber, forming a vortex at least at the outlet. The flow control system further comprises at least one flow control structure shaped and positioned in the flow chamber such that a velocity of the circuitous flow is reduced and the vortex is eliminated or substantially reduced.

  • Patent number: 11892096
Abstract: A float for use with a fluid flow control device. The float, in at least one aspect, includes a fluid impermeable exterior, and a base material having one or more cavities positioned within the fluid impermeable exterior, the base material formed using an additive manufacturing process.

  • Publication number: 20230304376
Abstract: Provided is a float for use with a fluid flow control device, a fluid flow control device, a method for manufacturing a fluid flow control device, and a well system. The float, in one aspect, includes a ceramic base material having one or more cavities therein, the ceramic base material and the one or more cavities creating a net density for the float that is between a first density of a desired fluid and a second density of an undesired fluid, such that the float may control fluid flow through a flow control device when encountering the desired fluid or the undesired fluid.

  • Publication number: 20230304377
Abstract: Provided is a float for use with a fluid flow control device, a fluid flow control device, a method for manufacturing a fluid flow control device, and a well system. The float, in one aspect, includes a base material having one or more hollow ceramic shells therein, the base material and the one or more hollow ceramic shells creating a net density for the float that is between a first density of a desired fluid and a second density of an undesired fluid, such that the float may control fluid flow through a flow control device when encountering the desired fluid or the undesired fluid.

  • Patent number: 10544652
Abstract: Well systems for plugging and unplugging a flow path in a subterranean formation are provided. An example well system comprises a flow path comprising a two-part dissolvable flow-plug. The two-part dissolvable flow-plug comprises a retaining component and a plugging component adjacent to the retaining component. The retaining component comprises a dissolvable material. The flow path is in fluid communication with a tubing. The retaining component is configured to retain the plugging component in a fixed position.
