Abstract: A process for cleaning a radiator of an industrial vehicle comprises receiving an indication that an engine of the industrial vehicle has started and then disabling a traction control module of the industrial vehicle. The process overrides an engine speed to increase to a clean-out engine speed regardless of other inputs from an operator and then overrides operation of an engine cooling fan to operate in reverse such that a reverse airflow flows through the radiator. The operation of the engine cooling fan is also dependent on the clean-out engine speed. After a first predetermined amount of time, the engine cooling fan reverts back to normal operation. Based on when the engine cooling fan reverts back to normal operation, the engine reverts back to normal operation and the traction control module is reenabled.

Abstract: A method and configuration to estimate the dimensions of a cuboid. The configuration includes two image acquisition units offset from each other with at least one of the units positioned at a defined acquisition height above a background surface. Image processing techniques are used to extract a perimeter of a top surface of the cuboid, placed on the background surface, from pairs of acquired images. A height estimation technique, which corrects for spatial drift of the configuration, is used to calculate an absolute height of the cuboid. The absolute height of the cuboid is used, along with the extracted perimeter of the top surface of the cuboid, to calculate an absolute length and an absolute width of the cuboid. The height, length, and width may be used to calculate an estimated volume of the cuboid.

Abstract: A gear assembly for retrofitting a rotatable turret assembly having pre-existing mounting brackets. A gear assembly housing is cut so that it fits onto the pre-existing housing mounting brackets. An operator controlled hand crank is connected to an input shaft. The input shaft extends through the gear assembly housing and includes an input shaft gear that meshes with a drive shaft gear. The size of the drive shaft gear has been maximized so that it fits within the gear housing that has been mounted on the pre-existing mounting brackets. A drive shaft is connected to the drive shaft gear and extends through the gear housing. A sprocket is connected to the end of the drive shaft gear. The sprocket is mechanically linked to the turret assembly for controlling the rotation of the turret assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the turret assembly is mounted to a HMMWV.

Abstract: An exterior-mounted spare wheel carrier for a vehicle. The carrier is capable of rotating about a substantially horizontal axis and a substantially vertical axis to allow the spare wheel to be lowered to a position proximate the ground to facilitate the changing of a vehicle's wheel. The spare wheel carrier is releasably secured in a substantially horizontal plane by a tension member. The rotation of spare wheel carrier about a substantially vertical axis is governed by a governing mechanism. The spare wheel carrier is releasably held in a traveling position by an engaging mechanism and a safety latch.
