Publication number: 20260184805Abstract: The purpose of the present disclosure is to develop a new combination therapy that exerts a superior antitumor effect as compared to administration of an anti-CD26 antibody alone. In order to assess both the function of an immune checkpoint inhibitor and the antitumor effect of an anti-CD26 antibody, it is necessary to be provided with both a binding site on a human CD26 molecule and an immune system of the same lineage of a cancer cell. Thus, in order to acquire data of an immune checkpoint inhibitor and an anti-CD26 antibody, it is essential to perform analysis in a human immune system and a human tumor cell line. The present inventors have made an attempt to produce a human immune system mouse to be used as a model animal for confirming the effect of the combination between ICI and an anti-CD26 antibody, and have successfully produced a model mouse superior for generating human T-cells.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 27, 2022Publication date: July 2, 2026Inventors: Chikao MORIMOTO, Ryo HATANO, Kei OHNUMA, Yutaro KANEKO

Publication number: 20250270346Abstract: Potential prognostic biomarkers for CD26-targeted therapy were identified based on phase I study data of a humanized anti-CD26 monoclonal antibody YS110 against CD26-expressing tumors. Using boxplot analysis, scatter plot analysis, Pearson's product-moment correlation/Spearman's rank-difference correlation, bar graph analysis, and receiver operating characteristic (ROC), a correlation between soluble CD26 titer variation and tumor volume variation by YS110 administration, RECIST criteria evaluation, and progression-free survival (PFS) were examined. Further, mechanism of serum soluble CD26 titer variation was confirmed by in vitro experiments. As a result, serum soluble CD26/DPP4 titer variation at an early stage of YS110 treatment was found for the first time as a predictive biomarker to evaluate a therapeutic effect.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 22, 2022Publication date: August 28, 2025Inventors: Chikao Morimoto, Naoto Hirota, Ryo Hatano, Eric Angevin, Yutaro Kaneko, Fanny Valleix, Nam Dang

Publication number: 20230398116Abstract: Provided is the present invention focusing on roles of IL-26 present in humans but not in mice by characterizing molecular mechanisms involved in interspecies differences in terms of efficacy of EGFR-TKI. The present inventors found that human cancers are exposed to IL-26 in a tumor microenvironment (TME), activating the EGFR-TKI bypass pathway, while suppression of IL-26 overcomes EGFR-TKI resistance in cancers. Furthermore, the present inventors identified EphA3 as a new functional receptor for IL-26 of TNBC. Therefore, the present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for use in combination with an anticancer drug for treating cancer in a patient, the pharmaceutical composition containing a drug that reverses resistance to the anticancer drug by IL-26 as an active ingredient. Furthermore, the present invention provides a humanized anti-IL-26 antibody, and a therapeutic or preventive agent for refractory immune disorders or cancer using the antibody.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 7, 2021Publication date: December 14, 2023Inventors: Chikao Morimoto, Kei Ohnuma, Ryo Hatano, Takumi Itoh, Yutaro Kaneko
