  • Patent number: 7826590
Abstract: Regarding a X-ray photographing-tire apparatus and method, defining the reference plane as the plane perpendicular to the center axis of a tire mounted on a rotary device and passing through the X-ray source, and defining the reference line as the line headed from the center axis to the X-ray source within the reference plane, the X-ray source is oriented so that a predetermined azimuth range coincides with a predetermined angular range in which the reference line lies, within the reference plane, and a first line-sensor, being oriented parallel with the center axis, is placed within said predetermined azimuth range, in the radial outside of the tread portion TR of the tire, and the first line-sensor is placed at the position deviated from the plane defined by both reference line and the center axis, having two degrees of freedom of motion within the reference plane with orientation of the receiving surface kept constant.

  • Patent number: 4517146
Abstract: In a method for controlling a tire vulcanization of a vulcanizing apparatus, an initial green tire temperature is measured before vulcanization and a tire temperature during vulcanization is estimated on the basis of the thus measured initial tire temperature. In addition, a sum of products of vulcanizing rates derived from the thus estimated tire temperature is calculated so as to stop the tire vulcanization when the sum of products of vulcanizing rates becomes equal to a predetermined value. Therefore, the vulcanizing rate controlling can be performed in an easy and accurate manner without measuring the tire temperature during vulcanization, and thus a trace of a thermometer insertion is not remained on the vulcanized tire surface.

  • Patent number: 4475815
Abstract: A width of a selvage rubber portion extending in transversal direction of a coating sheet used for production of tire in which a plurality of cords arranged in substantially the equal interval and in parallel are integrally coated with rubber so that the cord portions are expanded, from the most externally positioned cord portion in said coating sheet, is precisely measured by transferring said coating sheet on a surface of a transferring member having a reflecting property different from that of the above described coating sheet in the longitudinal direction of said cord, emitting a light on a zone including at least the above described transferring member and the most externally positioned cord portion and detecting the light intensity distribution of the light reflected by the above described zone.
