  • Patent number: 6096989
Abstract: A switch formed with a repulsive spring between a key top and a lower contact wherein the switch is provided with a repulsive spring for separating the key top and the lower contact. The switch is horizontally shiftable by a driving board which extends from an adjacent switch and the repulsive spring is shifted by the driving board to allow the key top to fall by the weight of the key top.

  • Patent number: 6056456
Abstract: An expandable and retractable keyboard permits alteration of an overall size thereof by permitting relative sliding movement of keys mounted to a keyboard case. Switch groups each includes at least two key switches arranged along a longitudinal direction of a respective switch group. Bases of the key switches in each switch group are connected with an adjacent one, thereby maintaining the key switches in a given group in fixed spaced apart relation to one another. At least a portion of the switch groups are slidably mounted to the keyboard case to permit mounted movement thereof relative the keyboard case along a keyboard axis. The slidably mounted switch groups are disposed in positions laterally adjacent one another, thereby collectively forming at least a portion of a keyboard pattern. Slidable mounted movement of the switch groups relative one another effects a change in dimension of the keyboard pattern in a direction of the keyboard axis.

  • Patent number: 4529849
Abstract: A novel stroke converting mechanism for a push-button switch is disclosed. The stroke converting mechanism is for providing a push-button switch or a keyboard comprising the push-button switches with features such as low cost, low profile, and light and comfortable key touch. The stroke converting mechanism is made from a plate of metal such as 18-8 stainless steel, and fabricated by a single shot of press or by an etching of the plate in a batch process. The delineated plate is then shaped into a specified form by die press. In spite of the simple structure, the stroke converting mechanism can provide a sufficient stroke conversion ratio, e.g., about 4 mm of the key top to a displacement of about 1 mm necessary for actuating a couple of make-break contacts. And also, it reduces the necessary depression force on the key top to a half of the force required for actuating a make-break contacts, and provides a reduction in the height of a push-button switch or a keyboard as much as 3 mm or more.

  • Patent number: 4498256
Abstract: An item input device for a data processing system wherein plurality of flexible page sheets with input information provided thereon overlap the circumference of a rotating shaft in the device main unit and the fixed ends of the sheets are separated by a constant space. The desired page sheets are selected through rotation of the rotating shaft in the winding direction and the reverse direction of the page sheets, thereby guiding the page sheets to the display location. The page sheets overlap each other such that the page sheet unit has the page sheet ends bound thereto separated by a constant space thus the page sheet unit is formed separately from the rotating shaft. The page sheet unit is taken up to the rotating shaft in the page selection ready condition by rotation in the winding direction, and the page sheet unit taken up is released from the rotating shaft by rotation in the reverse direction. Moreover, a clamping member for holding the winding condition of the page sheets is provided.

  • Patent number: 4468075
Abstract: An electrical connecting device where electrical terminals are connected between two connector units by inserting the first connector unit into an insertion mouth of the second connector unit. Moreover, the electrical terminals of both units come into pressure contact by inserting the first connector unit into the second connector unit and then rotating the first connector unit in the direction almost at a right angle to the inserting direction. Such a structure is highly adaptable to an electrical connecting device where the first connector unit comprises a magnetic bubble memory unit, while the second connector unit comprises a holder unit for accommodating the bubble memory unit. This device realizes a stable and reliable electrical connection between both units with an excellent operability for insertion.

  • Patent number: 4370533
Abstract: A push-button switch has a housing in which is positioned a switch contact spring driven by the vertical movement of a drive rod comprised of a synthetic resin. The push-button switch further comprises a contact-driving plate spring portion constructed by a bent portion of a plate spring element. The drive rod is formed by mold processing using a support-portion of the plate spring element as a core, and the contact-driving plate spring portion is extended from the drive rod. The drive rod drives the switch contact spring through the contact-driving plate spring portion.
