  • Patent number: 11165956
Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an imager and an image converter. The imager captures an image of a subject to generate original image data representing the image captured with a predetermined resolution. The image converter performs a predetermined conversion process on the original image data. The image converter reduces a resolution of the original image data to generate first image data representing an entire image represented by the original image data with a resolution being lower than the resolution of the original image data. The image converter clips a part of the image represented by the original image data to generate second image data representing the part of the image clipped from the entire image represented by the original image data.

  • Patent number: 9613650
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a base unit of a spindle motor includes the steps of: defining a base plate including a support fitting portion; fitting a support to a hole portion passing through the support fitting portion; measuring an inclination of the support fitting portion; calculating a laser irradiation area and a laser irradiation output based on the inclination; irradiating the support fitting portion with a laser beam; and measuring the inclination of the support fitting portion again. The base plate is made of a metal, and is defined by press working, casting, or forging. The support is fitted to the hole portion by crimping, press fitting, or welding. This method reduces the inclination of the support fitting portion, thereby reducing a distortion of the support, which serves as a rotation center of an access portion.

  • Patent number: 6053265
Abstract: A rough-terrain vehicle employs separate track drives located on opposite sides of a vehicle body, like the wheels of a car. The tractor drives can revolve the track to permit track-driven travel. The drives can also halt the tracks relative to the drives and rotated the entire track drive that supports the track in which case the track drive rotates like a wheel. The latter mode provides an ability to traverse very rough surfaces. To provide high ground clearance, the support connecting the track drive to the vehicle body is located above the axis of rotation of the track drive. Almost the entire transmission mechanism for the track drive is confined to a volume enclosed by the loop of the track protecting it. The track drive supports the track on a polar array of wheels, each located along the line that divides the track into two loops.

  • Patent number: 5233668
Abstract: A method and apparatus for discriminating aggregation patterns includes detection of an image of the aggregation pattern and dividing the image into a plurality of image line data using a photoelectric element. The image line data defines an image waveform and includes a maximum image value. High and low image levels are defined based on the maximum image value. These high and low image levels are used to determine first and second areas of the aggregation pattern image, which first and second areas respectively include image values at least as large as the high and low image levels. An area difference between the first and second areas and a level difference between the high and low image levels are then calculated, along with a ratio of the area difference to the level difference. The calculated area difference and ratio are then compared with a predetermined reference value to discriminate whether or not the aggregation pattern is positive.

  • Patent number: 3985108
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine in which fuel in a fuel tank is sent to the carburetor to be sucked into the engine, a fuel separating system for starting an internal combustion engine comprising means for heating the fuel fed out of the fuel tank and means for cooling a vaporized low-boiling point fuel to condense so that a low-boiling fuel is fractionated out of the fuel in the fuel tank and the engine is started by the thus extracted low-boiling point fuel.
