  • Patent number: 8147925
Abstract: A pattern is formed by applying a coating composition containing magnetic particles to an article so that a coating film is formed, and a plurality of sheet form magnets are placed along the front surface of this coating film. Adjacent sheet form magnets are arranged in such a state that the magnetic poles on the front surface and the magnetic poles on the back surface are different between adjacent sheet form magnets, and side surfaces of the sheet form magnets contact each other. The coating composition contains a thermoplastic resin, magnetic particles with flaky form and a specific low boiling point solvent and a specific high boiling point solvent. A magnetic field is applied to the coating film by the sheet form magnets, so that the magnetic particles in the coating film are oriented by the magnetic field and the magnetic particles are oriented substantially parallel to the front surface of the coating film above the contact portions between the sheet form magnets.

  • Publication number: 20080073613
Abstract: A coating composition for forming a pattern includes a thermoplastic resin, magnetic particles with flaky form and a specific solvent. As the thermoplastic resin, a vinyl acetate based resin, an acryl based resin or a cellulose acetate butyrate resin is preferable. The specific solvent contains a low boiling point solvent having a boiling point of 50° C. or higher and 100° C. or lower, and a high boiling point solvent having a boiling point that is higher than 100° C. and 200° C. or lower. The coating composition for forming a pattern is set so that the viscosity 20 seconds to 60 seconds after application on the surface of an article to be coated is 2,000 mPa·s to 500,000 mPa·s in a normal state, and the viscosity between 60 seconds and 120 seconds after application is no lower than 100,000 mPa·s. In addition, the coating composition is set so that the viscosity between 60 seconds and 120 seconds after application is greater than the viscosity 20 seconds to 60 seconds after application.

  • Publication number: 20050222324
Abstract: The present invention provides: an aqueous primer coating composition, which can form a coating film excellent in the humidity-resisting adhesion and the gasohol resistance, and which can enhance the productivity in the coating steps; a process for formation of a coating film using this composition; and a coated article. The aqueous primer coating composition comprises an acid-anhydride-modified chlorinated polyolefin emulsion resin (A), an aqueous urethane dispersion (B), an aqueous epoxy resin (C), and an organic strong base and/or its salt (D); wherein: relative to the total nonvolatile content of the (A), (B), and (C), the nonvolatile content of the (A) is in the range of 20 to 60 weight %, that of the (B) is in the range of 10 to 40 weight %, and that of the (C) is in the range of 20 to 60 weight %, and further, the (D) is in the range of 1 to 5 weight %.
