  • Patent number: 7435405
Abstract: By suppressing oxidation of sulfide minerals in sulfide ore due to bacteria or the like, this invention prevents the elution of heavy metals from the sulfide ore, and reduces the decrease in flotation performance when processing sulfide ore that is stored in a stockpile. Also, the invention makes it easier to process acidic wastewater from a stockpile or tailings dumpsite. In order to accomplish this, oxidation of sulfide minerals in sulfide ore is suppressed by adding an antioxidant, which contains plant polyphenol and whose main component is an organic acid that contains a carboxyl group, to the sulfide ore stored in a stockpile or tailings dumpsite.

  • Patent number: 6264847
Abstract: A method is provided for decomposing free cyanide ion and metallic cyano complex ions in a liquid, comprising the steps of bringing the liquid into contact with ozone gas in a counterflow relation in the condition that the pH of the liquid is at least 10 with the mass flow rate of the ozone in the ozone gas up to 20 mg per minute per liter of liquid, and then bringing the liquid into contact in a counterflow relation with ozone gas having an ozone concentration of at least 150 g/m3 in the condition that the pH of the liquid is 7.0 to 9.5.

  • Patent number: 5842923
Abstract: The screw comprises a circular thread portion 2a formed in a base portion of the screw, in which a helical thread is formed at the same depth and at the same crest angle; a special non-circular thread portion 2b which follows the portion 2a and has its thread depth gradually vary so as to assume a polygonal shape in cross section and permit the crest portion of thread to reach its highest points A-J in a turn of the thread, the highest points A-J being equal in thread depth and crest angle to the thread of the portion 2a; the portion 2b has its crest angle gradually increase as the thread moves from the highest points A-J to its lowest points along the length of the thread; and, lines connecting axially adjacent ones of the highest points A-J are tilted from the axis of the screw at a predetermined angle so that the portion 2b assumes a twisted polygonal prism-like shape as a whole.

  • Patent number: 5702591
Abstract: The present invention concerns a method of separating variable ores containing copper, lead, zinc and the like as the refining material for non-ferrous metals and gangue minerals such as pyrite, quartz, feld spar and the like from dug out ores and, particularly, it relates to a flotation method. For obtaining non-ferrous metal valuable ores as concentrates from ores by a flotation method, flotation is conducted by using gaseous sulfurous acid or aqueous sulfurous acid as a depressant for controlling the floatability of pyrite. The flotation method comprises measuring the redox potential of an ore solution before and after the addition of gaseous sulfurous acid or aqueous sulfurous acid and determining an optimum addition amount by utilizing a proportional relationship present between the difference of the potential and the valuable quality enhancing rate.

  • Patent number: 4637494
Abstract: A carriage carrying a robot, a television camera, etc. is moved along a ladder having spaced ledges. The carriage has a number of gripper units moved in the direction of movement of the carriage by air cylinders or motor driven threaded rods. Each gripper unit is reciprocated toward and away from the ladder and provided with a motive device for opening and closing grippers for gripping or releasing the ledges.
