    Abstract: A liquid ejection apparatus includes a liquid ejection head that ejects a liquid and a switching device. The switching device includes a first ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes a first supply passage at a position upstream from the joining point, and a second ON-OFF valve that selectively opens and closes a second supply passage at a position upstream from the joining point. When the first ON-OFF valve is open and the second ON-OFF valve is closed, the liquid guide portion divides the first liquid into a first liquid flow proceeding from the first supply passage directly to the head supply passage and a second liquid flow flowing from the first supply passage into the head supply passage after passing the vicinity of the second ON-OFF valve in the second supply passage.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a charging method of a lithium ion secondary battery including, as a positive electrode active material, a lithium-containing composite oxide containing nickel and cobalt and having a layered crystal structure. The charging method includes a first step of charging the battery at a first current of 0.5 to 0.7 It until the charge voltage of the battery reaches a first upper limit voltage of 3.8 to 4.0 V; a second step of charging the battery, upon completion of the first step, at a second current smaller than the first current until the charge voltage of the battery reaches a second upper limit voltage greater than the first upper limit voltage; and a third step of charging the battery, upon completion of the second step, at the second upper limit voltage. This provides a charging method of a lithium ion secondary battery, the method capable of achieving both a shortened charging time and an improvement in charge/discharge cycle life characteristics.

An out-of-jetting micro-vibrating controlling unit causes the micro-vibrating unit to operate when the head member is located in the out-of-jetting micro-vibrating areas, while the head member is caused to relatively move by the scanning mechanism, based on the out-of-jetting micro-vibrating areas and head-position information.

    Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a transporting unit that transports a printing medium in a transport direction. A print head group has print heads disposed at an interval in the transport direction. Each of the print heads has ink ejecting nozzles in a range substantially perpendicular to the transport direction, including a margin area outside an image forming area in the printing medium. Image detection units correspond to the print heads except for at least the uppermost upstream side print head in the transport direction. A printing control unit controls the print heads so that the print heads eject ink on the printing medium. The uppermost upstream side print head prints a reference timing pattern on the margin area. A print head corresponding to the detection unit prints a checking timing pattern when the reference timing pattern is detected, thereby controlling the ink ejection timing of the printing apparatus.
