  • Patent number: 6814329
Abstract: A production managing method for production of motion picture photo film is provided. At first, film web is slitted to produce continuous photo film having a predetermined width. Production managing information is written to an RFID (radio frequency identification) tag, and includes a roll number and slitting number, which are related to the film web and the continuous photo film. The continuous photo film is cut to produce motion picture photo film. The production managing information is stored in association with the motion picture photo film. The motion picture photo film is checked. If the motion picture photo film has a defect, the production managing information may be referred to for detecting a portion of the film web or the continuous photo film from which the defect derives. Other motion picture photo films with a defect will be traced.

  • Patent number: 6129464
Abstract: A printing device comprises a print head for printing an image on a recording medium, a carriage mounted for movement along the recording medium and supporting thereon the print head, an encoder member having division lines, and a sensor supported by the carriage for movement therewith for reading the division lines of the encoder member and outputting pulse signals corresponding to reading of the division lines. A position calculating device calculates a position of the carriage in accordance with the pulse signals from the sensor. An error detection/correction device detects an error in reading the division lines of the encoder member by the sensor and outputs an error correction signal to the position calculating device. The position calculating device calculates a correct position of the carriage in accordance with the error correction signal from the error detection/correction device.

  • Patent number: 5277378
Abstract: A tape takeup system includes a tensiometer which outputs a numerical value which changes in proportion to the tension applied to the tape. The numerical value is converted into a value of tension according to a predetermined formula. The rotational torque of the takeup reel is controlled so that the tension applied to the tape converges on a target tension on the basis of comparison of the value of tension represented by the numerical value output from the tensiometer and the target tension. When a known tension is applied to the tape, the value of the known tension and the numerical value which is output from the tensiometer upon application of the known tension are stored in a memory, and the predetermined formula is changed on the basis of the value of the known tension and the numerical value corresponding to the known tension stored in the memory. When a first switch is depressed, the torque control is interrupted, and a second switch is depressed, the change of the formula is permitted.

  • Patent number: 5056923
Abstract: An optical thickness measuring apparatus comprises a light source, a spectral device which separates light produced by the light source into its spectral components, and a photodetector for detecting the light which has been separated by the spectral device into its spectral components and which has been scatter-reflected by a material being subjected to thickness measurement, said photodetector receiving only scatter-reflected light. An operation processing device calculates either one of variables a* or b* of an L*a*b* colorimetric system or either one of variable u* or v* of an L*u*v* colorimetric system on the basis of information about the light which has been scatter-reflected by the material. The information is received from the photodetector. A thickness calculating device calculates the thickness of the material from the value of the variable calculated by the operation processing device.
