  • Publication number: 20130181945
Abstract: Provided is a display device, which detects the proximity state of a display screen and an object on the display screen, based on capacitance detected by a capacitance detecting unit configured on the display screen, and corresponding to the proximity state, the display device determines one user interface to control out of a plurality of user interface screens that are displayed in layers on the display screen.

  • Publication number: 20120299856
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a mobile terminal capable of preventing an unintended erroneous input to a touch panel, and a control method thereof. A mobile terminal according to the invention includes a touch panel, a contact area detection unit, and an input determination unit. The contact area detection unit detects a contact area of an object on the touch panel when the object touches the touch panel. The input determination unit determines whether the input through a touch of the object on the touch panel is valid or not. The input determination unit determines that the input through the touch of the object is invalid when the contact area detected by the contact area detection unit is equal to or larger than a value corresponding to an upper limit of a contact area of a fingertip touching the touch panel during a finger input.

  • Publication number: 20120154331
Abstract: Information is displayed on display (110) included in display device (100) having a capacitive touch panel function. Sensor (120) measures a variation in capacitance on display (110), and outputs the measured variation in capacitance and position information indicating the position at which the capacitance varies. Controller (130) determines whether or not a finger is in proximity to display (110) on the basis of the variation in capacitance output from sensor (120). If it is determined that the finger is in proximity to display (110), coordinates on display (110) are fixed according to the position indicated by the position information. A screen displayed on display (110) is enlargingly displayed on display (110) centered on the fixed coordinates at a prescribed magnification, and the coordinates are secured until it is determined that the finger is not in proximity to display (110).
