  • Publication number: 20160234523
Abstract: A variable length encoder 23 multiplexes hint information into an entire region bitstream, the hint information including motion vector limitation information indicating a maximum range in which a search for a motion vector can be performed, GOP size limitation information indicating a GOP size which is the number of pictures belonging to a GOP, and reference configuration specification information indicating a picture to be referred to at the time of decoding each picture belonging to the GOP. As a result, a bitstream of the entire region which is suitable for efficient generation, with a low operation amount, of a bitstream of a partial region can be generated without causing a reduction in the compression efficiency of the bitstream of the entire region.

  • Publication number: 20160050421
Abstract: When the signal format of a color image is YUV4:2:2, and an intra prediction parameter, which is used for an intra-frame prediction process on the chrominance signals in a prediction block, shows the same prediction mode as an intra prediction mode for the luminance signal in the prediction block, an intra prediction unit 4 converts an index indicating the intra prediction mode for the luminance signal, and performs the intra-frame prediction process on the chrominance signals in an intra prediction mode indicated by the index after conversion.

  • Publication number: 20150271502
Abstract: A motion-compensated prediction unit 6 is configured in such a way as to, when the coding unit of a coding target picture differs from that of a reference picture, correct a reference vector held by a reference picture and derive a prediction vector from the corrected reference vector. As a result, application to the HEVC can be achieved even when the encoding based on a per frame basis and the encoding based on a per field basis coexist.

  • Publication number: 20150195582
Abstract: Since time hierarchically encoded video data needs to include video data of a basic hierarchical layer, and video data cannot be generated in which a frame belonging to an upper hierarchical layer is only encoded, even in a case in which only a part of frames is processed, a basic hierarchical layer frame is needed to be included, and thus, there has been a problem that video data in which only the frame belonging to the upper hierarchical layer is encoded cannot be separately processed. In the present invention, a variable length encoding unit is disposed which encodes, for each sequence, a basic hierarchical layer existence flag showing whether or not a basic hierarchical layer is included in the sequence.

  • Publication number: 20150023420
Abstract: A loop filter unit 11 carries out a class classification of a local decoded image generated by an adding unit 9 into one class for each coding block having a largest size determined by an encoding controlling unit 2 and also designs a filter that compensates for a distortion piggybacked for each local decoded image belonging to each class, and also carries out a filtering process on the above-mentioned local decoded image by using the filter. A variable length encoding unit 13 encodes, as filter parameters, the filter designed by the loop filter unit 11 and used for the local decoded image belonging to each class, and a class number of each largest coding block.

  • Publication number: 20130114700
Abstract: When generating a prediction image of a color difference signal, an intra prediction unit 4 carries out an intra prediction process on a target block to be encoded of a color difference signal by using the same intra prediction parameter as that which the intra prediction unit 4 uses when carrying out an intra prediction process on a target block to be encoded of a luminance signal, or carries out the intra prediction process on the target block to be encoded of the color difference signal by applying an average prediction to the target block to be encoded. A variable length encoding unit 13 variable-length-encodes a flag showing whether the intra prediction unit 4 uses the same intra prediction parameter as that used for the luminance signal.
