  • Patent number: 7760382
Abstract: An input of a user ID is accepted upon executing a copying process and the accepted user ID is transmitted to a department-management server, whereby a department ID of a department to which the user belongs is inquired. Then, in case that the department-management server receives the user ID, the department ID is searched based upon the received user ID. In case that it is determined that the corresponding department ID is present and the copying process is allowed, the department ID is replied. An image forming apparatus receiving the department ID executes the copying process, counts the number of copies and registers the number of copies as associated with the department ID.

  • Publication number: 20080062461
Abstract: A print apparatus monitoring system is provided that the operation state of a plurality of print apparatuses selected and used by a user can be known by resident display. In the method, prints are made by a plurality of print apparatuses connected through a network according to a print instruction from a terminal apparatus, and the operation states of the plurality of the print apparatuses instructed to make prints are displayed as separate icons respectively corresponding to the print apparatuses on a resident displaying portion of the terminal apparatus. For example, occurrence of an error in the print apparatuses is displayed by changing the display form of the corresponding icon. The display of the icon on the resident displaying portion can be displayed at the start of the printing in each print apparatus and can be erased at the end of the printing in each print apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4541165
Abstract: An automatic rotational cutting edge changer for use with a tool tip having a plurality of cutting edges. When a sensor detects wear or chipping in the cutting edge in use, the cutting edge changer moves this cutting edge of the tool tip out of the cutting position of the cutting tip and brings a new cutting edge of the same tool tip to the cutting position by keeping the tool tip supported in position on a rotating member and causing the rotating member to be urged in its rotating direction by a lever operated by an actuating device for the cutting edge changer.

  • Patent number: 4115005
Abstract: A method for measuring a roughness profile of a surface optically is provided. The method essentially comprises projecting through a converging optical system a pair of light rays on a surface to be measured, the light rays being focused slightly before and behind the measuring surface, receiving reflections of the projected light rays by photoelectric means to produce two different electric signals representing the intensity of the reflections of the two light rays, detecting a roughness profile of the surface on the basis of the difference of the two electric signals, and moving the light rays along the measuring surface to obtain a continuous roughness profile of the surface.
