  • Patent number: 6045432
Abstract: An eyeglass lens layout input device for easily entering numeric values or altering displayed images. An eyeglass lens layout input device enters data to be used in providing a layout of a lens that corresponds to an eyeglass frame and sends the layout data to the lens grinding apparatus. The layout input device includes a selector that selects one of a plurality of entry items, and a rotary member which designates the value of a selected entry item by the direction and amount of its rotation. The rotary member is common to the plurality of entry items.

  • Patent number: 5890949
Abstract: An eyeglass lens grinding machine for processing lenses to be fitted in an eyeglass frame. Frame configurational data of an eyeglass frame and layout data of a lens are input to the machine, and a layout of the lens is determined based on the frame configurational data and the layout data. An edge position of the lens in the thickness direction is obtained based on the determined layout, and lens processing data is computed based on the layout and the edge position. An insufficiency in the diameter of the lens relative to the lens processing data is detected. A predetermined reference range relative to the insufficiency is set, and a judgement is made as to whether or not the insufficiency is within the predetermined reference range. A processing command signal is entered based on the result of this judgement. When the insufficiency is detected and the processing command is entered despite the insufficiency, a grinding operation is performed with the insufficiency left, based on the lens processing data.

  • Patent number: 5803793
Abstract: A subject lens is held by two chuck shafts, which are rotated synchronously by pulse motors during a grinding operation. Chamfering and other grinding wheels are mounted on a rotary shaft of a lens grinding part. A desired grinding wheel for each processing is selected by moving the rotary shaft vertically. In the case of rough processing, the rotary shaft is moved by a pulse motor toward the center of the chuck shafts based on lens frame shape data. In the case of chamfering, the rotary shaft is moved toward the center of the chuck shafts as well as vertically based on chamfering data. To produce part of the chamfering data, a lens measuring section measures the shapes of the front and rear surfaces of the subject lens.

  • Patent number: 5716256
Abstract: A subject lens is held by two chuck shafts, which are rotated synchronously by pulse motors during a grinding operation. A group of grinding wheels are mounted on each of rotary shafts of right and left lens grinding parts. The rotary shafts are disposed on opposite sides of the chuck shafts. A desired grinding wheel for each processing is selected by moving the rotary shaft vertically. To grind the subject lens, the rotary shafts are moved independently by pulse motors toward the rotation axis of the chuck shafts based on lens frame shape data in the case of rough processing.

  • Patent number: 5347762
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for processing lens peripheries which allow lenses to be properly fitted in a frame, i.e., which processes lenses with high dimensional accuracy. For this purpose, the lens periphery processing apparatus and method are designed to comprise an input device for inputting the configuration of lens frame portions of the eyeglasses frame which is a result of three-dimensional measurement, a calculation device for deriving peripheral lengths of the lens frame portions from the three-dimensional lens frame portion configuration inputted by the input device, a tapered edge curve determining device for determining a curve value defined by the locus of the tapered edge of each lens, and a computing device for computing the locus of the tapered edge of each lens which substantially coincides with the peripheral length of the associated lens frame portion which is obtained by the calculation device.

  • Patent number: 4023292
Abstract: A binder loose leaf for mounting photographs or the like. It is made up of a flat base having a pressure-sensitive non-drying adhesive composition coated over one of its face and an air-protection film applied over the adhesive composition. This film can easily be removed by light rubbing friction to expose the adhesive composition when it is desired to fix a photograph or the like on the loose leaf.
