Abstract: Provided is a display device equipped with a display panel having an optical sensor built in a pixel. The display device is equipped with the display panel having a photo sensor element (107) as the optical sensor in a pixel. The pixel includes: a first layer having the photo sensor element (107); a second layer having a first shield electrode (108); and a third layer having a pixel electrode (106). The second layer is formed between the first layer and the third layer. The first shield electrode (108) covers the photo sensor element (107) and is insulated from the pixel electrode (106). This configuration can reduce the effects of the electrical noise on the optical sensor and prevents lowering of the sensibility of the optical sensor. The present invention can be applied to a liquid crystal display panel having a built-in optical sensor touch panel and a liquid crystal display panel having a built-in optical sensor scanner function.
