  • Patent number: 9834014
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a printer including a printing head, a DC motor, an energization control part, a short-circuiting device, a temperature detecting device, and a braking control part. The DC motor is configured to generate a driving force for feed by a feeder. The energization control part is configured to control energization by an energizing device. The short-circuiting device is configured to short-circuit a positive electrode and an negative electrode of the DC motor and brake when deenergized under control of the energization control part. The temperature detecting device is configured to detect a temperature of ambient surroundings. The braking control part is configured to control the short-circuiting device in accordance with the temperature detected by the temperature detecting device, to thereby variably control an operation mode of the braking by the short circuiting.

  • Patent number: 8736895
Abstract: A tape printing apparatus compares a back-side background region of print data to be previously printed and a front-side background region of print data to be subsequently printed upon receipt of plural print data including background. If they are different, the tape printing apparatus creates a front-side color mixture tolerance region and a back-side color mixture tolerance region based on the front-side background region and the back-side background region, respectively, so that the front-side color mixture tolerance region and the back-side color mixture tolerance region are arranged continuously. The apparatus sets cut positions at a front edge border and a back edge border of each print data and cut the tape off at those portions while carrying out full-color print on the tape based on respective print data.

  • Patent number: 5103551
Abstract: For holding a plurality of different, in shape, workpieces, a holding unit comprises a laminated body with a number of thin identical shaped elongate plates which have one ends forming a workpiece supporting surface, a vibrator unit for moving the elongate plates so as to vary the shape of the workpiece supporting surface to create a new one, and a bias mechanism for clamping the laminated body, so the newly created shape of the workpiece supporting surface is maintained.
