  • Publication number: 20150307100
Abstract: The present invention provides a vehicle controller that predicts the behavior of the host vehicle and the preceding vehicle in accordance with the input road shape by use of the mass models of the host vehicle and the preceding vehicle before determining the acceleration of the host vehicle based on the result of the driver model and behavioral prediction. The unintended acceleration of the driver and the two-step deceleration can be thereby less frequent. And the algorithm the vehicle controller possesses alleviates the sense of discomfort felt by the driver. The vehicle controller further enables the cruise control in keeping with the intended driving operation of the driver while the security is ensured even when both the adaptive cruise control (ACC) and the deceleration control ahead of curve are to be performed simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20140069810
Abstract: An electrochemical corrosion potential sensor has a sensor unit, a lead wire and a quasi-reference electrode. A sensor unit includes a tube-shaped insulator, a tube-shaped metal casing joined to an end portion of the insulator, and a Pt electrode joined to another end portion of the insulator. A lead wire connected to the Pt electrode passes through the insulator and the metal casing. The quasi-reference electrode disposed in the metal casing is made of a less noble metal and electrically connected with the lead wire. Since an electrochemical corrosion potential sensor has the quasi-reference electrode, the measurement of the corrosion potential of a structural member of a nuclear power plant and an abnormality occurrence (water intrusion) can be accurately detected during the operation of a nuclear power plant.

  • Patent number: 8488231
Abstract: A wavelength-multiplexed polarization entangled photon pair generator (1) includes: a pump light source (2); a polarization entangled photon pair generating body (4) on which pump light (3) outputted from the pump light source (2) falls; and a spectrometer (7) on which a wavelength-multiplexed parametric photon pair (5) outputted from the polarization entangled photon pair generating body 4 falls. The polarization entangled photon pair generating body (4) made of a nonlinear optical crystal (11) generates wavelength-multiplexed photon pairs by subjecting the pump light 3 to type II phase matching. As a nonlinear optical crystal 11, lithium tantalate of periodically poled structure (11A) can be used, and as a spectrometer (7), an arrayed-waveguide grating can be used. • Publication number: 20090116822
Abstract: A system includes a DVD recorder capable of recording and playing back video data using an HDD, a TV receiver capable of displaying TV broadcasts or effecting display based on the video data played back by the DVD recorder, and an HDMI interface that integrates the function of the two devices, i.e. the TV receiver and DVD recorder. The DVD recorder is powered on in step with the power-on of the TV receiver via the HDMI interface, enabling video data to be supplied from the DVD recorder to the TV receiver. When powered on, the DVD recorder maintains the magnetic disk of the HDD in rotation while the magnetic head is held above the surface of the magnetic disk. The magnetic head is retracted off of the surface of the magnetic disk upon elapse of a predetermined standby time in the absence of instructions regarding recording or playback. HDD malfunctions due to penetration of dust etc.
