  • Publication number: 20050055313
Abstract: One of a plurality of users purchases a PC card in which software is included from a distributor of communication software or a seller of PC cards. This purchaser informs a non-purchaser through a safe channel such as off-line of a key for encryption, a URL of the site from which to download the software and a retrieval induction code. The non-purchaser accesses the distributor of communication software, etc., via a network using the URL, key and retrieval induction code, downloads the software corresponding to the software that the purchaser owns, and executes cipher communications or a competition game with the purchaser. The distributor of software or the seller of PC cards pays the purchaser who satisfies certain conditions based upon the contents registered in the user management database.

  • Patent number: 6700989
Abstract: The present invention relates to a contrivance for inserting watermark information into a moving image. The watermark information indicative of the ownership of the copyright of the moving image is inserted into the frames of the moving image at irregular intervals, the frames being of such a number that the watermark information is visually unperceivable in the moving image. In addition, the insertion positions of the watermark information in the frames are determined on the basis of random number values. Besides, restrictive information for the copying of the moving image is inserted together with the watermark information. When the moving image has been brought to a standstill into a static image, the watermark information can be visually perceived with ease, so that illegality such as piracy can be readily exposed. Thus, the present invention can provide a simple and inexpensive scheme for the copyright protection of the moving image.

  • Patent number: 6636970
Abstract: When encoding software, two or more encoding algorithms are employed. Conversely, for software decoding processing, decoding algorithms are prepared that correspond to these two or more encoding algorithms. Then, in software encoding processing, encoded algorithm combination identification information is transferred to the software decoding processing along with the encoded software. During software decoding processing, opposite algorithms possessed by the decoding means are selected based on the previously mentioned algorithm combination identification information, and the previously mentioned encoded software is decoded.

  • Publication number: 20030159045
Abstract: An original creating apparatus and an originality guaranteeing apparatus prevent a document and a signature from being falsified while visually displaying the signature, etc. For example, time data (t1) is added to data of a document (development plan document) and data of a seal column of a creator, an electronic signature is put, and a checksum (CS1) is geenrated. Then, an original file including also the checksum (CS1) is created, and transmitted to an approver side. The approver side verifies the checksum (CS1), makes a comparison between the checksum (CS1) obtained as a result of the verification, and the checksum recorded to the file, and whether or not both of the checksums match is determined, so that the originality is confirmed. With such a configuration, the presence/absence of falsification can be verified, whereby a document transfer can be visually made while guaranteeing the originality of document data.

  • Publication number: 20030142825
Abstract: In this system, a valid medium issuing system reads a key Ka corresponding to an ID number from a key management book at a request from the script storage system 1 to issue a script medium (MO) 6, decrypts a valid medium certificate in a storage medium delivered from the factory using a key Ka, and generates a script medium (MO) 6. The script medium (MO) 6 is transmitted to the script storage system 1, and the script storage system 1 records a script document on the script medium (MO) 6. In this process, a decrypting process of a valid medium certificate is performed using the same key Ka, and after confirming the script of the storage medium, the script is recorded. With the configuration, a script document is recorded only for the script.

  • Patent number: 6460137
Abstract: A random-number generator generates first and second title keys on the basis of random numbers. A first DES encryption circuit for the title encrypts input data with the first title key. Initial values of this item of input data are a data identifier (ID) and program clock reference (PCR) that are extracted from a packet header. After completing the encryption of the initial values, a result of an encryption by a second DES encryption circuit for title serves as the input data for the first DES encryption circuit for title. The second DES encryption circuit for title encrypts a value of result of the encryption by the first DES encryption circuit for title with the second title key. An exclusive OR circuit outputs an exclusive OR of the data stored in the packet and a value of result of the encryption by the second DES encryption circuit for title. This exclusive OR turns out encrypted data.

  • Publication number: 20010009582
Abstract: A cryptographic communication method is provided in which a cryptographic communication is performed by an easy operation even if both enciphered data and unenciphered data are mixed to be handled. In the transmission side, a communication key is used for enciphering data to be transmitted, and in the reception side the same communication key as in the transmission side is used for decoding received data. In the transmission side, an individual key that is different from the communication key is used for enciphering the data to be transmitted, the enciphered data are decoded by using the individual key first, and then the decoded data are enciphered by using the communication key so that the enciphered file can be transmitted.

  • Patent number: 6067640
Abstract: A set of a management-use memory medium in which is written various type of regulatory information (limit I of use of software, limit L of production of the next generation, a number K of generations showing up to what generation backup copies can be produced, software identification information PID, etc.) and a software memory medium in which the software is stored is established and use of the software is allowed under the restrictions of this regulatory information. Further, the software memory medium and the management-use memory medium may be provided in the same memory medium or the two may be constituted as separate memory media. In the case of the latter separate management system, the software is allowed to be used only when the software identification information PID written in the two match. It is therefore possible to suppress the unauthorized use of software without detracting from the spatial convenience of software use.

  • Patent number: 5832210
Abstract: A transmission unit transmits the identical transmitting information including a communication number information. A communication number counting unit increments the communication number information every time the identical transmitting information is transmitted, sets the communication number information which is greater than the incremented last communication number information to an initial communication number information when a renewed transmitting information is transmitted, and increments the initial communication number every time the renewed transmitting information is transmitted. An information discrimination unit discriminates whether or not a receiving transmission information conforms with a registration transmitting information. A communication number information comparison unit compares a receiving communication number information with a registration communication number information.
