Publication number: 20240103414Abstract: A fixing unit or device that can be used in an image forming apparatus includes a first heater element that is formed of a material that increases in electrical resistance with increases in temperature. A controller of the fixing unit is configured to vary a duty ratio of electric power applied to the first heater element during a start-up operation in which the temperature of the first heater element is raised to a target operating temperature. By varying the duty ratio during the start-up operation, changes in the resistance of the first heater element with the heating can be compensated. For example, the duty ratio can be increased during the course of the start-up to achieve the target operating temperature faster.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 1, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Kiyotaka MURAKAMI, Kazuhiko KIKUCHI, Sasuke ENDO, Masaya TANAKA, Ryota SAEKI, Kousei MIYASHITA, Ryosuke KOJIMA, Yohei DOI, Yuki KAWASHIMA, Eiji SHINOHARA

Publication number: 20220283765Abstract: An image forming apparatus (100) has an operation panel (5), a storage portion (2), an image reading portion (3), and a controller (1). On recognizing a job executed after a job is canceled as a result of a cancellation instruction being accepted to be a retried job, the controller (1), based on job information on the canceled job and job information on the retried job, detects as an error-prone item a setting item for which a set value differs between the canceled job and the retried job, and makes the storage portion (2) store improper setting information including information indicating the error-prone item.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 4, 2020Publication date: September 8, 2022Applicant: KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc.Inventors: Yoshiaki YASUI, Masahiro NISHIYAMA, Narihiko SUESE, Tsuyoshi NITTA, Ikuya OHARA, Ryota DOI, Shunsuke SASAKI

Patent number: 9851887Abstract: A display device includes a plurality of cases having an opening/closing mechanism, a plurality of displays installed in a plurality of cases, and an open-close angle detector configured to detect an open-close angle between a plurality of cases. The display devices carries out a transforming process on a plurality of images based on the open-close angle between the cases such that a plurality of images can be visually recognized as a continuous plane image. Additionally, the display device changes the transforming process depending on a portrait orientation and a landscape orientation. Moreover, it is possible to correct a plurality of images based on a user's position concerning a user's specific part relative to the display device.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2014Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: NEC CORPORATIONInventors: Ryota Doi, Atsushi Kiyota

Patent number: 4588660Abstract: A fuel cell made up of a pile of unit cells, each consisting of a pair of cell element and separator packed in a cell frame, in which there are formed a fuel feed path and oxide product evacuation path in the piling direction. The cell frame is provided between its inner edge offsets and the outer edges of the cell element and separator with inner packings, and further provided near its outer edge on one side with an outer packing. The sealing structure perfectly prevents a fuel leak, and yet allows compactness and easy assembling process.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 1985Date of Patent: May 13, 1986Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Toshio Shimizu, Takanori Satoo, Ryota Doi, Motoo Yamaguchi, Tsutomu Tsukui, Yoshio Yoshioka

Patent number: 4537840Abstract: Disclosed is a fuel cell using as an electrolyte an organic, high-molecular weight electrolyte. The fuel cell of the present invention can prevent the leakage of an electrolyte from an electrolyte chamber so that an electrical short-circuit between an anode and a cathode can be avoided. Moreover, use of the disclosed electrolytes permits the fuel to be fed to the fuel chamber by itself or in admixture with water, but without being mixed with electrolyte.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1983Date of Patent: August 27, 1985Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tsutomu Tsukui, Toshio Shimizu, Ryota Doi, Yasuyuki Tsutsumi

Patent number: 4217514Abstract: A stator structure for the induction motor is disclosed, in which the winding accommodated in the slots of the stator iron core has one end portion, outside of the stator iron core, shaped to provide a flared bell-like opening, and the other end portion thereof, outside of the stator iron core, forming short-passed winding and being provided with an opening sufficiently large to permit insertion of the shaft of the rotor. Between the inner surface of the short-passed end portion and a given portion of the surface of the stator iron core a coil-supporting member is disposed. The outer surface of the coil-supporting member has a shape along the inner surface of the other coil end portion, while the inside thereof is so shaped as to provide a sufficient space or air gap with respect to the rotor to be inserted.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1978Date of Patent: August 12, 1980Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Yuzuru Simazaki, Ryota Doi, Yuji Kumagai, Ikou Fukazawa, Motoo Yamaguchi
