  • Publication number: 20180029682
Abstract: Provided is a ship propulsion system such that an increase in the size of a main engine can be minimized. The ship propulsion system is equipped with: main generators that supplies power to the interior of a ship; a power distribution unit that distributes the power of the main generators; a first electric motor that rotatably drives a first rotary shaft with the power input through the power distribution unit; a main propeller that rotates along with the first rotary shaft; a second electric motor that rotatably drives a second rotary shaft with the power input through the power distribution unit and a stern-side propeller that is disposed on the stern side of the main propeller and rotates along with the second rotary shaft.

  • Patent number: 9463856
Abstract: A ship includes a main propeller; a pod propulsion unit; and a rudder plate. The main propeller, the pod propulsion unit and the rudder plate are arranged on a hull centerline in this order. The pod propulsion unit includes a pod propeller; and a strut. The main propeller and the pod propeller configure a contrarotating propeller. When rudder angles of the pod propulsion unit and the rudder plate are zero, at least a part of a front end of the rudder plate is in front of a rear end of the casing.

  • Publication number: 20160251064
Abstract: A ship propulsion performance predicting apparatus includes: a theoretical propulsion performance computing unit computing theoretical propulsion performance for a desired navigation condition using a physical model of a propulsion system of a target ship; and a corrector correcting the theoretical propulsion performance using the smooth water correction term and the disturbance correction term stored in a correction term database. The smooth water correction term and the disturbance correction term stored in the correction term database are derived by a correction term deriver from operation experience data.
