    Abstract: A developing device includes a developing roller, a frame body having an accommodating portion for accommodating developer, and a first conductive portion and a second conductive portion integrally molded. The first conductive portion includes a first electrode portion exposed from the frame body inside the accommodating portion and a first electrical contact portion electrically connected to the first electrode portion and exposed from the frame body outside the accommodating portion. The second conductive portion includes a second electrode portion exposed from the frame body inside the accommodating portion and a second electrical contact portion electrically connected to the second electrode portion and exposed from the frame body outside the accommodating portion. The first electrode portion and the second electrode portion are disposed so as to face each other with a space therebetween and function as a capacitor.

    Abstract: A developing apparatus includes an accommodation portion for developer, a conveying member with a rotating shaft and sheet for conveying developer, and a sensing portion with first and second conducting members for sensing electrostatic capacitance based on developer amount. An accommodation portion frame body features a recessed portion with intersecting first and second inner wall faces bearing the conducting members. The recessed portion extends from an inner side of the accommodation portion toward an outer side. During image formation, the first inner wall faces downward while the second inner wall faces upward with an inclination angle exceeding the developer's angle of repose. The intersection line of imaginary lines passing through these wall faces lies below the rotation axis line.

At least a portion of an opening is located above a supply roller. A stirring shaft is located above the opening. A second stirring sheet member is provided on the side opposite to a first stirring sheet member with respect to an imaginary line passing through the center of rotation of the stirring shaft. The first stirring sheet member and the second stirring sheet member each have a length that allows the other ends thereof to reach the opening when the stirring shaft rotates.
