  • Publication number: 20170194519
Abstract: A solar cell element comprises a silicon substrate, a passivation layer, a first conductive portion, an electrode, and a second conductive portion. The silicon substrate has a plurality of recessed portions in one main surface. The passivation layer is located on the one main surface and has holes in positions corresponding to the recessed portions. The first conductive portion is located in each of the holes. The electrode is connected to the first conductive portion while being located on the passivation layer, and contains aluminum. The second conductive portion is connected to each of the silicon substrate and the first conductive portion while being located in a region in each of the recessed portions, and contains aluminum and silicon. A void in which the second conductive portion is not located is present in the region in each of the recessed portions.

  • Patent number: 8969714
Abstract: The solar cell module comprises: a string including solar cell elements, each including a first main surface being rectangular in shape and an electrode extending along a longitudinal direction on the first main surface, and an interconnection connecting the solar cell elements adjacent to each other along the longitudinal direction; a light-transmitting member located to cover the string; and a sealing material located between the string and the light-transmitting member. Each of solar cell elements includes a silicon substrate with the first and second main surface, and a first and second side surfaces each connecting the first and second main surface, the second side surface being located on the back side of the first side surface. The first and second side surfaces are arranged along the longitudinal direction, where silicon is exposed on the first side surface and the second side surface is covered with an insulating layer.

  • Publication number: 20140124027
Abstract: The solar cell of the present invention includes a semiconductor substrate, a back-side electrode arranged in a region excluding at least a predetermined conductor arrangement region in the back surface of the semiconductor substrate, and solder adhering to the back surface of the semiconductor substrate in the conductor arrangement region and to the back-side electrode. The method of manufacturing a solar cell of the present invention includes preparing a semiconductor substrate, forming a back-side electrode having an empty portion through which the back surface of the semiconductor substrate is exposed in a region excluding at least a predetermined conductor arrangement region in the back surface of the semiconductor substrate, and soldering in the empty portion by bringing solder into contact with the back surface of the semiconductor substrate exposed in the empty portion and with the back-side electrode and performing ultrasonic soldering.
