    Abstract: An ultraviolet irradiation device includes a light source unit, a drive circuit, a sensing unit and a controller. The light source unit includes a plurality of light emitting devices and outputs ultraviolet light as irradiating light. The drive circuit supplies a drive current (Id) to the plurality of light emitting devices. The sensing unit senses a trouble in the plurality of light emitting devices. The controller controls the drive current (Id) in accordance with a result of sensing by the sensing unit. When an output of the light source unit is reduced due to a trouble in one or some of the plurality of light emitting devices, the controller controls the drive current (Id) of a plurality of light emitting devices other than the light emitting device in trouble so as to compensate reduction in the output of the light source unit.
