  • Patent number: 7127324
Abstract: Provided are an information processing apparatus and a method, and in particular, an information processing apparatus and a method for employing a 3D model generated using 3D-CAD. When attribution information (a distance, an angle, the diameter of a hole, a dimensional tolerance, etc.) is added to a 3D model, as the amount of additional information is increased, it becomes difficult for the geometry of a 3D model and the attribution information to be seen on a display screen. The visual direction (the attribution allocation plane) is set for a generated 3D model, and attribution information is entered that is to be positioned on an attribution allocation plane. By designating the attribution allocation plane, the designated attribution information, together with the geometry of the 3D model, is displayed on the screen.

  • Patent number: 7119805
Abstract: The present invention relates to information processing apparatus and methods and, more particularly, to information processing apparatus and methods making use of a 3D model (3D shape) prepared by 3D-CAD. For adding attribute information (distances, angles, hole diameters, dimensional tolerances, etc.) to the 3D model, it becomes harder to recognize the shape of the 3D model and the attribute information on a display screen with increase in the added information. Thus each visual axis direction (attribute arrangement plane) is set for the 3D model prepared and attribute information is inputted so as to be opposed to the attribute arrangement plane thus set. When the set attribute arrangement plane is then specified, the opposed attribute information, together with the shape of the 3D model set, is displayed on the display screen. Names of attribute arrangement planes are arranged so as to avoid overlap thereof on the display screen, thereby suppressing deterioration of visibility.

  • Patent number: 7054701
Abstract: Conventionally, in the process for inspecting a molded product, a measurement point indicating a portion to be measured is defined by using attribution information, such as a tolerance difference, and a measurement program is created, or a manual measurement instrument is employed to conduct the measurement. • Patent number: 6965377
Abstract: A coordinate input apparatus and a coordinate inputting method are provided, in which any influence on display images by coordinate information recorded on a coordinate plate can be extremely reduced and excellent operation of input indication is enabled without being disturbed by the coordinate information. A coordinate input apparatus includes a coordinate plate having plural pieces of coordinate information recorded thereon and a pen, or input-indicator, for indicating a desired position of the coordinate plate so as to detect coordinate information in the vicinity of the position and for indicating a position to be input. Coordinate values are determined from the coordinate information detected by the input-indicator so as to determine a coordinate value of the coordinate in the position to be input on the basis of the coordinate values and to input the coordinate value.

  • Publication number: 20050093860
Abstract: Disclosed is an information processing apparatus having display means for virtually displaying planes, in which attribute information concerning a three-dimensional model is laid out, in three-dimensional space identical with that of the three-dimensional model, and output means, which is responsive to a direct designation by designating means of a plane displayed by the display means, for outputting print data of the three-dimensional model and of the attribute information as viewed from a normal-line direction of the virtual plane designated. The information processing apparatus (a 3D-CAD apparatus, for example) prints drawings more efficiently.

  • Patent number: 6611258
Abstract: In a pen-input computer or the like, it is impossible to distinguish an input method and to execute a proper process according to the input method. A touch panel driver generates finger-input coordinate values for a display screen. A digitizer driver generates pen-input coordinate values for the display screen. A processor receives the coordinate values and additional information indicative of either the finger-input or the pen-input from a source discriminator, starts an inputting process according to the input method, and allows a virtual keyboard to be displayed onto the screen or allows a “CHR input pad” window to be opened.

  • Patent number: 6570558
Abstract: An influence by a vibration which is transmitted in the air is reduced, thereby preventing an erroneous detection of coordinates or a deterioration in a detecting precision. An elastic resin sheet is arranged on a coordinates input surface side of a vibration transmission plate so as to have a gap between the resin sheet and the vibration transmission plate and is fixed by an adhesive layer. When coordinates are inputted by a vibrator pen, namely, when a vibration is inputted, the resin sheet is warped by a writing pressure of the vibrator pen and the resin sheet comes into contact with the vibration transmission plate. Therefore, the vibration applied by the vibrator pen is efficiently transmitted to the vibration transmission plate.

  • Patent number: 6415240
Abstract: A mechanical degree of freedom is provided between electrodes and sensors, thereby accomplishing both of the assurance of an arranging position precision of the sensors and the easiness of manufacturing. In a coordinates input apparatus for detecting a coordinates position on the basis of a delay time which is required until an elastic wave oscillation which propagates on an oscillation propagating plate arrives at an oscillation sensor, an oscillation sensor is fixed in a manner such that one electrode surface is come into contact with a conductive surface of an oscillation propagating plate. A contact member is positioned onto the other electrode surface of the oscillation sensor by an annular member by using an external shape of the sensor as a reference. An electrode unit includes a signal electrode and a ground electrode. The ground electrode is come into contact with the conductive surface so as to be electrically conductive thereto.

  • Patent number: 6407731
Abstract: A coordinates input apparatus which detects vibration, inputted by a vibration-input pen, by a plurality of vibration sensors provided on a vibration-transmitting tablet, and derives coordinates of a vibration-input point based on vibration transmitting time on the vibration-transmitting tablet. The vibration-transmitting tablet comprises a glass substrate and two sheets of resinous film laminated on the glass substrate. The two sheets of resinous film are laminated on both surfaces of the glass substrate in an orientation such that the stretched directions of the resinous film differ for 90 degrees. By this, a vibration-transmitting tablet where sheets of protection film are laminated, and a coordinates input apparatus which minimizes the changes in vibration propagation velocity depending on the propagation directions, are realized.
