  • Publication number: 20150035462
Abstract: A motor controller includes an inverter portion having an upper switching element and a lower switching element which are connected in series, and an inverter control portion generating control signals and controlling a drive of each switching element. The inverter control portion generates the control signals such that (i) different phases of the upper switching element and the lower switching element are synchronously energized and intermittently turned on, (ii) a pulse-width modulation period of the upper switching element is equal to a pulse-width modulation period of the lower switching element, (iii) an on-period of one of the upper switching element and the lower switching element is greater than an off-period of the other one of the upper switching element and the lower switching element, and (iv) the off-period is in a time period from a time point the on-period starts to a time point the on-period completes.

  • Publication number: 20120002410
Abstract: A light source capable of emitting light of which intensity is uniform throughout its length. A light source (1a) includes a fluorescent lamp (2) including a tube body (21) having a substantially linear shape and discharging electrodes (221, 222) disposed at both ends in an axial direction of the tube body, and a light guiding member (11a) having a substantially transparent color, a length in an axial direction shorter than a length in the axial direction of the tube body, and a linear shape, wherein the light guiding member is attached on an outer surface of the tube body at a section closer to one end in the axial direction of the tube body of the fluorescent lamp such that one end of the light guiding member is disposed close to the discharging electrode 222 at the one end of the fluorescent lamp.

  • Publication number: 20100220050
Abstract: The object is to decrease the size of an entire backlight device including an inverter circuit board and the cost for producing the backlight device. The backlight device includes a lamp (20a), an inverter circuit that generates a drive voltage for driving the lamp (20a) from an inputted voltage, a socket section (26a) that holds an end part of the lamp (20a) and applies the drive voltage to an electrode lead (28a) led out from the end part of the lamp (20a), and a metal chassis (31). The socket section (26a) has a dielectric (dielectric unit 32) between a flat part of the electrode lead (28a) of the lamp (20a) and the metal chassis (31). The electrode lead (28a), the dielectric (dielectric unit 32) and the metal chassis (31) function as a resonant capacitor of an output transformer of the inverter circuit.

  • Publication number: 20100202132
Abstract: A pseudo U-character tube system backlighting device is configured to reduce the number of inverter transformers without imposing strict limits to mutual insulation between neighboring inverter transformers. A backlighting device, in at least one embodiment, is provided with a plurality of lamps, an inverter circuit, and light emitting surfaces, wherein the plurality of lamps with which first electrodes of a first inverter transformer are connected, are continuously arranged to form a first lamp arrangement group, the plurality of lamps, with which first electrodes of a second inverter transformer are connected, are continuously arranged to form a second lamp arrangement group, and the second electrodes of the lamps belonging to the first lamp arrangement group are connected with either of the second electrodes of the lamps belonging to the second lamp arrangement group.

  • Publication number: 20100149428
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a backlight device includes six light source units including cold-cathode tubes (linear light sources) and driving circuits for driving the respective cold-cathode tubes. The light source units are arranged in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the cold-cathode tubes. In one embodiment of the backlight device, an inverter controller (control portion) turns on the cold-cathode tubes included in each of two light source units that are adjacent in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction while phases of on-time/off-time cycles of PWM dimming of the two adjacent light source units are shifted from each other.
