  • Publication number: 20140208025
Abstract: A RAID controller includes a first serial interface, a second serial interface, and a control unit. To the first serial interface, a host device is connectable. The second serial interface has a plurality of ports to each of which a storage device capable of executing a command is connectable. The control unit controls the second serial interface so that, when a significant value is written to a predetermined control register which is determined to be unused on a serial interface standard for a type of the command obtained from the host device through the first serial interface among a control register group to which a parameter is written, the value is regarded as port information for specifying the port to which the storage device caused to execute the command is connected, and the command is transferred to the storage device via the port specified by the port information.

  • Patent number: 7474484
Abstract: A reproducing apparatus and a recording apparatus capable of reducing time to continuously read and record a plurality of data. A readout order of data of a prescribed size composing data specified by a reproduction command from outside is determined so that all the data of the prescribed size can be continuously reproduced while a head goes and returns once in the radiation direction of a disk. The position of the head in the radial direction of the disk is controlled to continuously reproduce the data of the prescribed size in the readout order. The data of the prescribed size reproduced from the disk via the head is rearranged in a correct reproduction order based on the reproduction command and output.

  • Publication number: 20050078949
Abstract: This invention relates to a reproducing apparatus and a recording apparatus capable of reducing time to continuously read and record a plurality of data. Specifically, a readout order of data of a prescribed size composing data specified by a reproduction command from outside is determined so that all the data of the prescribed size can be continuously reproduced while a head goes and returns once in the radiation direction of a disk. The position of the head in the radial direction of the disk is controlled so as to continuously reproduce the data of the prescribed size in the readout order. The data of the prescribed size reproduced from the disk via the head is rearranged in a correct reproduction order based on the reproduction command and output.

  • Patent number: 5572491
Abstract: A magneto-optical disc recording apparatus with a high mounting efficiency and shortened access time, wherein two magneto-optical disc media are disposed facing each other, only the outside of the two magneto-optical disc media being recordable and reproducible, auxiliary magnetic field application magnets are disposed between the two magneto-optical disc media, and the reproduction/recording heads and reproduction/erasure heads are affixed on the same bases which are mounted on a sled base, whereby it becomes possible to reduce the size of the plane of the sled base, dispose a large number of heads, and shorten the access time as well.
