  • Patent number: 4719994
Abstract: Floor re-leveling apparatus including a microprocessor; cage position detectors produce outputs representative of the position of the cage in any one of three sections, a normal floor arrival section, one other section immediately above the normal floor arrival section, and one other section immediately below the normal floor arrival section. A speed reference signal having a preferred characteristic is generated and an actual cage speed signal is compared with the reference signal.

  • Patent number: 4677437
Abstract: In this invention, "column" buses connected to a power supply and "row" input lines are arranged in the shape of a matrix, external signal lines are connected to the intersection points thereof, and the "column" buses are switched at predetermined cycles by the signals of a sequence circuit so as to sequentially apply the signals of the external signal lines from the "row" input lines to signal inputting circuits, and when any of the "column" buses, "row" input lines and external signal lines has grounded, the operation of the sequence circuit is ceased during the grounding. Accordingly, the apparatus can sharply reduce the number of signal lines, and it can eliminate the labor of maintenance owing to a reliability higher than that of an apparatus employing a fuse.

  • Patent number: 4493399
Abstract: Described is a control system for an elevator wherein the distance between the current car position and the target position of a floor at which the car is to be halted is detected on the basis of a car position signal computed from car displacements and a preliminarily stored floor position signal for controlling the car speed. According to the present invention, the contents of a read-only floor memory concerning the respective floor positions stated in the building plan or schedule are transferred at the outset into a transient read/write floor memory. In the course of the subsequent elevator car travel, the data in said transient floor memory is corrected through the learning of the contents of the car position signal computed during car displacements. In this manner, the car may be controlled to arrive at a target floor accurately despite occasional difference between the actual floor position and the design floor positions.

  • Patent number: 4485895
Abstract: An elevator system having an elevator car, a running speed pattern generator, and a landing speed pattern generator. The landing speed pattern generator includes a plurality of different landing patterns stored in memory. When the elevator car enters the landing zone of the target floor, the magnitude of the running speed pattern is detected and a landing speed pattern is selected in response to this magnitude. The selected landing speed pattern is substituted for the running speed pattern, to enable the elevator car to land smoothly and accurately at floor level, notwithstanding errors in the running speed pattern.

  • Patent number: 4446946
Abstract: An elevator speed instruction generating system using an electronic computer to generate speed instruction data comprises a pulse generator adapted to generate a pulse whenever the cage runs a predetermined distance, a counter for subjecting the pulse thus generated to addition and subtraction according to the travelling direction of the cage, and memory means provided in the electronic computer for storing acceleration and deceleration instruction data. Acceleration instruction data are read out of the memory means every predetermined time in the acceleration operation, and in the deceleration operation deceleration instruction data corresponding to the differences between the absolute position of a destination floor and outputs of the counter are read. Adjustment of the elevator, which is required when it is installed in different buildings, can be achieved merely by changing the data stored in the memory means.

  • Patent number: 4389631
Abstract: An elevator position detecting device which provides a correct floor position output signal even if the elevator case is moved irregularly between floors. In a first embodiment, a single cam is provided between each two adjacent floors and a single detector attached to the elevator cage produces an output signal to an electronic calculator each time the detector meets the engaging cam for upward member and leaves the cam for downward movement. A digital value corresponding to one floor is added to or subtracted from, respectively, a floor memory of the electronic calculator. In a second embodiment, two cams are provided between each two adjacent floors with each of the two cams being a fixed distance away from its adjacent floor. Two detecting means are provided on the elevator cage in this case and the content of the floor memory is divided by two to provide a correct cage position signal.

  • Patent number: 4375249
Abstract: A floor selector comprises a first and a second switch on an elevator car, a vertical array of first switch actuators each disposed between each pair of adjacent floors in a hoistway, and another vertical array of second switch actuators located below the first actuators in the hoistway. When the first switch engages each of the first actuators, a synchronized floor is renewed by adding one floor to the preceding synchronized floor read out from an RAM by a micro-processor and written into the RAM. When the second switch engages each of the second actuators, an advanced floor in advance of the synchronized floor is renewed by adding two floors to the preceding advanced floor read out from the RAM by the micro-processor and written into the RAM.

  • Patent number: 4368518
Abstract: A cage position detecting apparatus operates the data for the present position of the cage by a computer. The data for the final floor memorized in a read only memory are used as the data for the present position when the cage stops at the final floor to output a signal from a position detector placed in a hatchway. The cage is run to the final floor when the position detector corresponding to the final floor does not output a signal in the condition that the operated data for the present floor indicates the final floor. The operated data for the present position are memorized in a memory device actuated by the emergency power source to give the data being coincident with the actual cage position even though the operated data for the present position of the cage are changed by service interruption. The data for the condition of the cage just before the service interruption are memorized in the memory device.

  • Patent number: 4356896
Abstract: A system which includes a micro-computer which is responsive to an elevator car reaching a predetermined distance from a terminal floor and arranged to calculate a residual distance between the actual position of the car and the floor so as to generate a command normal deceleration signal concerning that distance, and a command terminal deceleration generator which is responsive to the successive actuations of plural terminal sensors disposed adjacent of the floor within an associated hoistway so as to generate a command terminal deceleration signal which is successively decreased. When the car engages any of the terminal sensors, the micro-computer similarly calculates a residual distance between the position of the engaged terminal switch and the floor so as to generate a command auxiliary terminal deceleration signal concerning that distance.

  • Patent number: 4354576
Abstract: A command elevator speed generator for an elevator car which includes a counter for counting pulses corresponding to a distance of movement of an elevator car, a position sensor on the car for delivering a positional signal upon the car reaching a predetermined distance short of a calling or a called floor and a resetting circuit which is responsive to the positional signal for clearing the counter. An electronic computer then subtracts the succeeding count from a predetermined distance stored in it to calculate a residual distance to the floor for each of its calculating periods. A command deceleration signal is then read out from the computer to decelerate the car.

  • Patent number: 4351416
Abstract: An elevator control device which selectively employs an operational mode in which the cage of the elevator is run at a maximum rated speed or an operational mode in which the cage is run at a speed lower than the rated speed as determined by distance codes read out from a memory. The cage is accelerated in accordance with an acceleration signal the value of which is determined by the total distance between the start and stop floors. A deceleration instruction signal is produced in accordance with the difference between the acceleration instruction signal and the distance to the floor at which the cage is to be stopped. The acceleration instruction signal is compared with the deceleration instruction signal and a decision is made as to which is utilized as a speed instruction signal to a motor operating the elevator cage in accordance with which is the larger.
