  • Patent number: 4558707
Abstract: A sphygmomanometer comprises pressure detection elements for measuring an applied sphygmomanometeric pressure and providing an output indicative of the pressure, and a voice synthesizer responsive to the pressure detection elements for synthesizing voice indicative of the pressure and generating the voice.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 3, 1983
Date of Patent: December 17, 1985
    Assignee: Sharp Kabushiki Kaisha
    Inventors: Ryuichi Miyamae, Haruo Yasuda
  • Patent number: 4510942
Abstract: A sphygmomanometer is characterized in that, upon completing the blood pressure measuring operation, it automatically informs the operator of the measured values including the systolic and diastolic pressure values stored in a memory circuit by means of synthesized speech. A repeat instruction device prompts repetition of the measured values by synthesized speech, and, when the blood pressure measuring operation is begun, it inhibits the input of the repeat signal so that repeating of verbal information of the measured value is inhibited during a period from the start of pressurizing of the measuring cuff at least until the blood pressure measuring operation is completed.

  • Patent number: 4510943
Abstract: An electronic sphygmomanometer includes a digital display for visually displaying a systolic pressure and a diastolic pressure, and a synthetic speech generation system for audibly announcing the systolic pressure and the diastolic pressure. Switches are provided for selectively enabling the digital display and the synthetic speech generation system. Earphones are connectable to the electronic sphygmomanometer to hear the audible output of the systolic pressure and the diastolic pressure where neither the synthetic speech generation system nor the digital display is enabled.

  • Patent number: 4273136
Abstract: A blood pressure measurement system comprises a determination means for determining whether a cuff pressure is increasing for preparation purposes or decreasing for measurement purposes. The determination means includes a comparator for comparing the current cuff pressure with the last cuff pressure, and detection means for detecting whether a difference between the current cuff pressure and the last cuff pressure is smaller than a predetermined value. Another determination means is provided for detecting whether the cuff pressure is first increased to a desired level higher than systolic pressure of a person to be measured. A reset means is provided for automatically resetting the system when the cuff pressure is decreased to a predetermined level after completion of measurement.

  • Patent number: 4262675
Abstract: A sphygmomanometer includes a blood pressure detector, a compensation circuit for providing polygonal line approximation functions suitable for piezo-electric characteristics of the blood pressure detector according to compensation data externally applied thereto, and a pressure determination circuit for determining pressure values using the polygonal line approximation functions from the values measured by the blood pressure detector for a predetermined time period.

  • Patent number: 4208918
Abstract: A first oscillator is associated with a pressure detector so that frequency of an output signal of the first oscillator varies in response to variations of the detected pressure. A second oscillator having a same construction as the first oscillator is provided for determining a sampling period of the output signal of the first oscillator, thereby compensating for variations of the frequency of the output signal derived from the first oscillator due to variations of temperature, humidity, a power supply voltage, etc.

  • Patent number: 4206655
Abstract: A pressure sensor comprising pressure responsive means wherein its location is shifted in response to variations of a pressure to be detected, and frequency variation means for varying an oscillation frequency of an oscillator in response to a shift movement of the pressure responsive means. The pressure responsive means and the frequency variation means are mounted on a single supporting table. The single supporting table shows a thermal expansion substantially identical with the total thermal expansion of the pressure responsive means and the frequency variation means, thereby stabilizing a pressure detection.
