  • Patent number: 11918907
Abstract: A first game process that proceeds independently of a second game process related to opponents for a user is performed. State data indicating a second game state of the second game process related to each of a plurality of the opponents is sequentially acquired, and a display image including a first image reflecting a first game state of the first game process and a plurality of second images reflecting the second game states indicated by the state data is sequentially generated. The display image is sequentially generated such that the first image is arranged in a first area located at a center of the display image, a second area is located at a position at each of right and left sides of the first area, and the second images are arranged in the respective second areas at the right and left sides. An instruction that changes a game state of the target is made if a game state of the user satisfies a predetermined condition.

  • Publication number: 20230381653
Abstract: A first game which advances independently of a plurality of opponent's game processes is started at the same start timings as the opponents. In the first game, a player object is controlled, a time limit is decreased with elapse of time, a time limit is increased if the player object has successfully performed a predetermined action, and advancement of the first game is ended when the time limit reaches zero. In addition, first game state data is transmitted to second information processing apparatuses, and second game state data is acquired from the second information processing apparatuses. Then, a display image including a first image based on the first game state data and a second image based on the second game state data is sequentially generated. If the first game is ended, evaluation relative to the opponents is performed in accordance with elapsed time since the start of the first game.

  • Patent number: 11731051
Abstract: Prior to start of execution of a game playable with a plurality of other players, a first scene is selected from among a plurality of scenes to be played in the game, on the basis of an operation by a player. Further, data regarding second scenes selected by the other players are acquired, and a connected scene including the first scene and the second scenes is generated in accordance with a predetermined principle. Then, execution of the game using the connected scene is started at the same timing as the plurality of other players.

Abstract: Execution of a first game is started at the same start timing as those of opponents. In the first game, a player object is controlled on the basis of the player's operation, and second game data regarding the game states of second games for the opponents are acquired. Further, first game data regarding the game state of the first game is transmitted to the opponents. In the first game, a first obstructing object for obstructing advancement of the first game appears on the basis of a predetermined rule. Further, if the second game data indicates that the opponent has successfully performed a predetermined action on the first obstructing object appearing in the second game, a second obstructing object is caused to appear in the first game.

  • Patent number: 9199166
Abstract: Coordinates on a detection surface are obtained using data output from a pointing device. The obtained coordinates are used to perform a designated coordinate-related process which is a game process. On the other hand, a designated coordinate-unrelated process is performed which is a game process which does not use the obtained coordinates. Also, it is detected whether or not coordinates within a predetermined region of the detection surface have been obtained. Depending on a result of the detection, the designated coordinate-related process and the designated coordinate-unrelated process are switched and executed.

  • Patent number: 9072964
Abstract: In an information processing apparatus stores, save data shared among first-third applications is stored in a memory for saved data by bringing it into correspondence with the first-third applications as first-third data. A computer integrates the first-third data stored in the memory for saved data within a main memory when the first application is activated, for example, and updates the integration data in accordance with execution of the first application and overwrites the first data and second data stored in the memory for saved data with the updated integration data in response to an automatic saving instruction or a saving instruction by a user at the same time.

  • Patent number: 9022864
Abstract: A game environment is presented where the 3-D object is properly transitioned from the player's field of view. For example, the perceived position of the 3-D object in the real 3-D space is measured, and if the distance from the display exceeds a threshold, the system will gradually transition the object out of the player's field of view. As another example, the distance of the object from a virtual camera can be measured in a virtual space and if the distance comes within a threshold value, the system will fade the object from the display. As a further example, the distance of the object from a predefined reference plane in the virtual space can be measured to determine the object's perceived visual distance in the real 3-D space and if the object exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the object will begin fading from the display.

  • Patent number: 8814678
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for gyro-controlled gaming viewpoint with auto-centering. A virtual camera is positioned at a first position while the virtual camera views a first object at a first direction. Once the system moves, the virtual camera moves to a second position based on a measurement by an angular velocity sensor. While the virtual camera moves to the second position, the viewing direction of the virtual camera simultaneously so as to keep the first object positioned in a same position of a viewing direction of the virtual camera. The apparatus and method allow the system to move a virtual camera based on a measurement of a gyroscope while keeping an object of importance in the center of the field-of-view of the virtual camera.
