    Abstract: An ink ribbon includes: a base film having lengthwise shape; a plurality of ink coat regions formed on the base film side by side at intervals of a predetermined distance in the lengthwise direction of the base film; and sensor marks formed on the base film between the ink coat regions to be used to detect the beginning of each of the ink coat regions. The plurality of ink coat regions are constituted by repetition of the regions in a predetermined number of different colors, and the sensor marks are constituted of ink coats of colors selected from the predetermined number of different colors.
