  • Patent number: 11002231
Abstract: An intake device for an internal combustion engine configures a flow passage for intake air that is drawn into combustion chambers. The intake device includes an intake manifold configuring multiple runners that respectively distribute intake air to multiple cylinders, a surge tank including a cavity that is connected to the runners and defines a convergence portion, a throttle body incorporating a throttle valve, and a connection pipe connecting the surge tank and the throttle body and configuring a curved flow passage extending between the throttle body and the surge tank. The connection pipe includes a partition plate that divides the curved flow passage into a circumferentially inner flow passage and a circumferentially outer flow passage.

  • Publication number: 20160001259
Abstract: A material for trapping a target substance, which is capable of selectively trapping a target substance such as a sludge or a sludge precursor contained in a liquid organic compound such as an engine oil or in a gas such as a blow-by gas (combustion gas). A material for trapping a target substance, which traps a target substance contained in a liquid organic compound or a gas, the material comprising a mesoporous inorganic material having a plurality of pores.

  • Patent number: 8783223
Abstract: The present invention is provided with a configuration which makes it possible to inhibit contact between an oil (L) and a gas in an oil pan (10a) properly. The oil pan (10a) according to the present invention contains a film (S1) which covers an oil surface (F) of the oil (L) to separate the stored oil (L) and the gas above the oil (L). The film (S1) can float by receiving buoyancy in the oil (L). The film (S1) may be formed of a liquid. The film also may be configured by a film member.

  • Patent number: 8556514
Abstract: A sliding support structure includes: a support member (12; 106) and a shaft member (10; 120) that relatively rotates with respect to the support member (12; 106) wherein lubricating oil is supplied to between a sliding surface of the shaft member and a sliding surface of the support member, the support member (12; 106) has a sliding surface portion (x) that corresponds to a load concentrating portion between the shaft member (10; 120) and the support member (12; 106), and sliding surface regions (Ya, Yb) that are higher in oil repellency than the sliding surface portion are respectively provided on upstream and downstream sides of the sliding surface portion in a flow direction of the lubricating oil.
