    Abstract: A silver halide light-sensitive emulsion and a silver halide light-sensitive material containing the same are disclosed, in which silver halide emulsion grains composed of an internal nucleus of silver bromide or silver iodobromide having a silver iodide content of not more than 1 mol % having provided thereon, in the order described, a first coating layer of silver iodobromide having a silver iodide content of from 2 to 20 mol % and a second coating layer of silver iodobromide or silver bromide a silver iodide content of which is lower than that of said first coat and is not more than 3 mol %, and are further composed of iodide phrases which are formed by halogen conversion with an iodide ion, by addition of silver iodide fine grains or by addition of a silver ion and an iodide ion at any stage during formation of 3 to 97% of the total amount of silver and after completion of the formation of the second coating layer.
