  • Publication number: 20250195415
Abstract: Biodegradable controlled release agent implants and methods of making and using thereof, are preferably formed of poly(?-pentadecalactone-co-p-dioxanone) [poly(PDL-co-DO)] or poly(ethylene brassylate-co-dioxanone), a family of polyester copolymers that degrade slowly in the presence of water. The material is suitable as the basis of a biodegradable controlled agent release implant that provides sustained release of a therapeutic such as an antiviral, thereby significantly increasing patent compliance and efficacy. Results show long term co-administration of agents having greater than additive efficacy. The implant may be inserted subcutaneously, allowing degradation over a period of up to about 18 or 24 months, eliminating the need for removal by a trained practitioner.

  • Publication number: 20250196312
Abstract: A carrier system holds and facilitates access to implements usable with any one of a variety of tools. The carrier system includes a universal holder and a plurality of distinctive tool-attaching adapters. The universal holder defines implement-receiving openings, each of which is configured to receive a corresponding one of the implements therein. Each of the tools defines a distinctive carrier-receiving portion. Each of the tool-attaching adapters is engageable with and complementally corresponds to a respective one of the carrier-receiving portions. The universal holder is individually securable to the tool-attaching adapters. The universal holder is mountable to each the tools upon engagement of a selected one of the tool-attaching adapters with the respective one of the carrier-receiving portions, attachment of the selected one of the tool-attaching adapters to the respective one of the carrier-receiving portions, and securement of the universal holder to the selected one of the tool-attaching adapters.

  • Patent number: 12164884
Abstract: Examples described herein relate to instructions to request performance of tanh and sigmoid instructions. For example, a compiler can generate native tanh instructions to perform tanh. In some examples, a tanh function can be compiled into instructions that include an instruction to perform either tanh(input) or tanh(input)/input depending on a value of the input to generate an intermediate output; an instruction to cause a performance of generation of scale factor based on the input; and an instruction to cause performance of a multiplication operation on the intermediate result with the scale factor. For example, a sigmoid function can be compiled to cause a math pipeline to perform a range check and performs operations based on a range.

  • Publication number: 20240403044
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to systems and methods for reuse of FMA execution unit hardware logic to provide native support for execution of get exponent, get mantissa, and/or scale instructions within a GPU. These new instructions may be used to implement branch-free emulation algorithms for mathematical functions and analytic functions (e.g., transcendental functions) by detecting and handling various special case inputs within a pre-processing stage of the FMA execution unit, which allows the main dataflow of the FMA execution unit to be bypassed for such special cases. Since special cases are handled by the FMA execution unit, library functions emulating various functions, including, but not limited to logarithm, exponential, and division operations may be implemented with significantly fewer lines of machine-level code, thereby providing improved performance for HPC applications.

  • Publication number: 20240295788
Abstract: An electrochromic device, system using, and method for, which may pre-activate a buffer is disclosed. The electrochromic device may comprise a first substrate, a second substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, and an electrochromic medium. The second substrate may be disposed in apart relationship with the first substrate. The first and second electrodes may be associated with the first and second substrates, respectively. The electrochromic medium may be disposed between the first and second electrodes. Further, the electrochromic medium may comprise electrochromic materials and a redox buffer. Each of the electrochromic materials and the buffer may be operable between activated and deactivated states. The electrochromic device may be configured to apply a voltage to substantially pre-activate the buffer and hold the buffer in this state prior to substantially activating the electrochromic materials, thereby decreasing the response time of the electrochromic device upon activation.
