Abstract: System and method for monitoring network connection are provided. The system includes at least one client device configured for providing a user access to a public network via a network connection and a network monitoring module coupled to the client device, the network monitoring module configured for monitoring the network connection based on an establishment of a transmission control protocol connection between the client device and the public network. The method includes steps of monitoring establishment of a transmission control protocol connection between a client device and a worldwide web server and generating network monitoring statistics on availability of network connection based on the information derived from monitoring.
