  • Patent number: 8381520
Abstract: A motor vehicle internal combustion engine EGR loop, in which: with the fresh air flow rate in the air inlet path (2) of the EGR valve (1) set at a maximum, the path (3) for the EGR gases in the valve is progressively opened, and before the EGR gas flow rate in the valve increases any further, the fresh air inlet path (2) is progressively closed in order to continue to cause the EGR gas flow rate to increase on an increasing monotonous curve.

  • Publication number: 20130025575
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling an exhaust gas recirculation circuit (2c) for an internal combustion engine (M) of a motor vehicle. The engine (M) is linked to an air intake circuit (2a) and to a gas exhaust circuit (2b) linked to the air intake circuit (2a) by the recirculation circuit (2c). A first valve (15) controls the flow of air upstream from the recirculation circuit (2c), and gases that are recirculated within the a second valve (16) controls the flow of exhaust recirculation circuit (2c). In the method of the invention, the recirculation of the exhaust gases is in particular controlled by means of measuring a pressure difference across the terminals of the second valve (16).

  • Publication number: 20130000615
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling an exhaust gas recirculation circuit for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The engine is linked to an air intake circuit and to a gas exhaust circuit linked to the air intake circuit by the recirculation circuit. A first valve controls the flow of air upstream from the recirculation circuit, and a second valve controls the flow of exhaust gases that are recirculated within the recirculation circuit. The method comprises the following steps: a) the first valve is closed, and the second valve is gradually opened; b) if the second valve is opened at an angle greater than a value between 25° and 35°, the first valve is gradually opened concomitantly to the opening of the second valve. As a result of the invention, the EGR rate is easily controllable.

  • Publication number: 20110155110
Abstract: The invention concerns an assembly of a valve body (A) and a seal (11). The valve body (A) includes a gas flow passage (4) and a valve shutter (6) mobile between an open position and a closed position obstructing the movement of the gases in the passage (4). The passage (4) being intended to be connected to a pipe (B) to enable gas to flow between them, the seal (11) being intended to be mounted between the passage (4) and the pipe (B) to provide a gas seal between them. The assembly is characterized in that the seal (11) forms a seat for the valve shutter (6) in the closed position. The seal provides, on the one hand, a seal between the passage and the pipe whether the valve shutter is in the open or the closed position and, on the other hand, a seal for the valve shutter in the closed position.
