  • Patent number: 9094026
Abstract: A digital phase-locked loop (PLL) device includes a digital loop filter which is provided with both a VCO-loop output and a DCO-loop output. The VCO-loop output is connected to an analog input of a multiband voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) module for allowing usual operation of the PLL with a direct voltage acting as feedback parameter. The DCO-loop output is connected to a digital control input of the multiband VCO module for allowing automatic frequency range selection. A code value which is produced by the digital loop filter acts as feedback parameter during the frequency range selection. Rapid and precise range selection can thus be performed.

  • Patent number: 8707146
Abstract: A method for conditionally stopping execution of a turbo decoder is proposed. The decoder has elementary decoders. Each elementary decoder performs a sequence of decoding operations and is arranged to receive an input from at least one other elementary decoder. The method determines for each specific decoding operation if the sequence of elementary decoding operations of the specific elementary decoder has substantially converged or substantially diverged. The method terminates the execution of decoding operations if a number of sequences has substantially converged or substantially diverged.

  • Patent number: 7480846
Abstract: The invention relates to the domain of turbo decoders. Such a decoder comprises a first decoder (14) and a second decoder (16), each decoder being able to calculate extrinsic output data from extrinsic input data coming from the other decoder. The decoding circuit according to the invention comprises a single memory (31) for storing the extrinsic data. When a decoder calculates an extrinsic output data from an extrinsic input data coming from the other decoder and stored in the single memory at a certain address, this extrinsic output data is then written at this same address.

  • Patent number: 7333581
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method using windows of data, a window (w) comprising data to be written and to be read and having a size. It is characterized in that it comprises:* A step of writing a current window of data into a unique buffer (BUF) in a first address direction, said first address direction being at an opposite direction from an address direction of the writing of a preceding window of data, said writing of said current window beginning at an address where no data of the preceding window of data have been written, said buffer (BUF) having a length greater than the maximum size of the windows of data, and* A step of reading the data of said preceding window of data from said unique buffer (BUF), from a reading address equal to a last written address of the same preceding window of data, said reading being made simultaneously to said writing of the current window of data and in the same first address direction.

  • Publication number: 20060090111
Abstract: The invention relates to a circuit for calculating a second data set based on a first data set calculated by at least a calculation device (31) that is capable of calculating a data in a predefined number of clock cycles. The calculation device has an input (311) and an output (312). The circuit comprises transport means (32) for routing a data of the first data set from the output to the input of said calculation device, in a number of clock cycles depending on the number of data of the first data set and on the predefined number of cycles necessary for the calculation of one data. A data advances through said transport means with each clock cycle.
