  • Publication number: 20180349218
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a novel architecture for debugging devices. This architecture includes numerous devices that without user intervention automatically detect and report bug events to a set of servers that aggregate and process the bug events. When a device detects a potential bug event, the device in some embodiments generates a description of the potential bug event, and sends the generated description to the server set through a network. In addition to generating such a description, the device in some embodiments directs one or more of its modules to gather and store a collection of one or more data sets that are relevant to the potential bug event, in case the event has to be further analyzed by the server set. In the discussion below, the generated bug-event description is referred to as the event signature, while the gathered collection of data sets for an event is referred to as the event's data archive.

  • Publication number: 20180333580
Abstract: Sensory information can be delivered to a subject mammal, for example, for restoring a sense of cutaneous touch and limb motion to the subject mammal. A biomimetic electrical signal is generated based on (a) a stimulation reference signal applied to a somatosensory region of a nervous system of a reference mammal, (b) a stimulated-response signal acquired from a sensory cortex of the reference mammal in response to application of the stimulation reference signal to the thalamic nucleus, and (c) a natural-response signal acquired from the sensory cortex in response to peripheral touch stimuli and/or peripheral nerve stimulation of the reference mammal. The biomimetic electrical signal is applied to a somatosensory region of a nervous system of the subject mammal to induce an activation response, in a sensory cortex of the subject mammal.

  • Patent number: 10103068
Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a first circuit structure and a second circuit structure. The first circuit structure includes a wiring line and a via upon and electrically contacting the wiring line. The via induces lateral etching voids between the via and the wiring line below the via upon the surface of the wiring line. The second circuit structure includes a similar wiring line, relative to the reference wiring line, without or fewer via thereupon. The first circuit structure is therefore relatively more prone to lateral etching void formation as compared to the second circuit structure. Resistances are measured across the first circuit structure and the second circuit structure and compared against a comparison threshold to determine whether the first circuit structure includes one or more lateral etching voids. If the first structure is deemed to not include lateral etching voids, the fabrication process of the device may be deemed reliable.

  • Publication number: 20180292179
Abstract: Digital cloaking is a method for practical cloaking, where space, angle, spectrum and phase are discretized. At the sacrifice of spatial resolution, a good approximation to an ideal cloak can be achieved—a cloak that is omnidirectional, broadband, and operational for the visible spectrum, three-dimensional (3D), and phase-matching for the light field, among other attributes. One example of a digital cloak is an active cloak that uses lenticular lenses, similar to integral imaging for 3D displays. With the continuing improvement in commercial digital technology, the resolution limitations of a digital cloak may be minimized, and a wearable cloak can be implemented.

  • Publication number: 20180182174
Abstract: Designs useful for switchable “Virtual Reality,” “Augmented Reality,” and “Mixed Reality” (VR/AR/MR) devices, for combining real reality and simulated reality images, other display purposes, and more. Various methods are proposed to combine (or not) real reality with simulated reality through the use of some level of zooming, cloaking, and/or other techniques. This enables a switchable VR and AR/MR system that does not require transparent glasses or devices. Various systems and methods are presented, some that can be generalized to novel imaging and display techniques that have broad applications beyond VR, AR, MR and other fields.

  • Publication number: 20180146686
Abstract: A sausage rolling machine utilizes gravity to reduce costs when rolling a food dough casing around a sausage. A first conveyor rotates in a first direction so as to move a food dough casing toward an edge of the first conveyor. A second conveyor is disposed below the first conveyor. A sausage dispenser dispenses a sausage. A hinged unit is disposed below the sausage dispenser and includes a hinge and a tray portion extending from the hinge. The hinged unit receives the food dough casing that is falling off the edge of the first conveyor when the hinged unit is at rest, initiates wrapping of the food dough casing around the sausage, and rotates the tray portion about the hinge, causing the sausage to roll onto the second conveyor while also causing the sausage to be partially wrapped by the food dough casing.

  • Patent number: 9985016
Abstract: A charge pump comprises one or more pump stages for providing a negative boosted output voltage. Each of the one or more pump stages comprises a P-channel transistor formed in an isolated P-well and an N-channel transistor coupled in series with the P-channel transistor. Forming the P-channel transistor in the isolated P-well essentially eliminates a raised threshold voltage due to body effect.

  • Patent number: 9940418
Abstract: This disclosure describes a design tool that iteratively performs simulation sets on an integrated circuit design, each corresponding to a different hierarchical level with each of the simulation sets producing a different set of simulation results. Each of the simulation sets utilizes a different set of local parameter values that include extreme instance local parameter values based on the set of simulation results of a preceding simulation set. The design tool generates a set of hierarchically aggregated simulation results based upon the last set of simulation results and global parameters, and modifies the integrated circuit design based upon a yield estimation that is determined from comparing the set of hierarchically aggregated simulation results to specification requirements that correspond to the integrated circuit design.
