  • Patent number: 5366075
Abstract: An improved golf club retaining device holds the clubs in place within a generally circular frame, while avoiding any bending stress transverse to the length of the club handle. The central disc of the club frame carries a band or ring of resilient material, e.g. a large O-ring, in a groove around the periphery of the disc. In locations where the club shafts pass this disc, the disc periphery has scallop-like recesses leaving the band without rearward support in those locations. Transverse force against the club shafts is derived only from the tension in the band or O-ring, to hold clubs securely in the frame. The transverse force on the club shafts is insufficient to induce any deformation in those shafts. An integral multiple cup member is provided as the bottom member of the frame, and has outer walls about its periphery which are higher that their inner counterparts. Forces against the butt of a club shaft handle are distributed over a greater part of the handle end.

  • Patent number: 4852896
Abstract: A golf equipment carrier is disclosed wherein golf clubs are supported upon an elongated club receiving frame which is supported for rotation upon a base member from which a club protecting cover extends vertically upwardly about the club receiving frame and includes an opening extending from the top of the cover downwardly a substantial distance such that clubs can be inserted and withdrawn from the club receiving frame laterally through the cover. The carrier may be conventiently secured to a powered golf cart which carries golfers as well as golfing equipment by means of a clamp which is secured to the carrier, and may also be configured as a manual golf cart by means of a detachable handle and detachable wheels.

  • Patent number: 4753446
Abstract: A golf equipment carrier in which golf clubs are stored in an elongated generally cylindrical club receiving frame supported for rotation upon a base member. The frame comprises circular top and bottom members, with sockets for club shaft ends in the bottom member and pockets in the top member for embracing the shanks of club shafts. A labyrinthine passage provides access into the pockets from the periphery of the top member. The top and bottom members are connected by a shaft which also carries a retainer disc with a rim of resilient material positioned to engage the approximate middle of the shafts and urge them slightly outward. The frame is held on a base mounted turntable for rotation/selection of stored clubs. The carrier may be clamped to a powered golf cart which carries golfers as well as golfing equipment, to a manual cart, or be configured as a manual golf cart by means of a detachable handle and detachable wheels.
