    Abstract: A medical device may include an extravascular system, a vascular access device attached to the system, and at least one access port attached to the device capable of displacing stagnant fluid within the extravascular system. A method for eliminating stagnant fluid within an extravascular system may include providing an extravascular system, providing a vascular access device having an access port, attaching the device to the system via the access port, accessing the access port with a separate vascular access device, and displacing stagnant fluid within the extravascular system.
