  • Publication number: 20190053178
Abstract: In one example a system to manage inter-vehicle communication in a decentralized vehicle-to-vehicle network comprises a plurality of sensors to detect context information about driving conditions proximate a first vehicle; a communication interface to manage communications between the first vehicle and a second vehicle; and a controller communicatively coupled to the plurality of sensors and the communication interface and comprising processing circuitry, to receive context information from the plurality of sensors; determine, from the context information, when the first vehicle is approaching a dead zone in which contact with a communication network may be lost; and in response to a determination that the first vehicle is approaching a dead zone in which contact with a communication network may be lost, to activate a synchronization frame broadcast module to broadcast a synchronization frame via the communication interface. Other examples may be described.

  • Publication number: 20190045034
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for network access technology (NAT)-based packet network provenance. In disclosed embodiments, each node in a network encapsulates and/or encodes received packets with network interface information in addition to attestation information. The network interface information indicates a type of NAT used to forward the packet to a next node or hop in a network path. Each node in the network implements protocol stack that includes a multi-interface translation layer below a networking layer and above the layer 2 protocol stacks of various communication protocols. The multi-interface translation layer determines the type of NAT to be used to forward received packets to the next hop, and encapsulates the received packets with an indication of the determined NAT to be used to forward the packet. Other embodiments are disclosed and/or claimed.

  • Publication number: 20180376373
Abstract: Methods, apparatus circuitry, and storage media are described for mobile-terminated packet transmissions. In one embodiment, an apparatus of a control plane device configured to operate within an evolved packet network core identifies a first service flow event trigger associated with a first packet data unit (PDU) session and processes a path reselection for a first PDU session in response to the first service flow event trigger, wherein the path reselection determines a new gateway for the first PDU session resulting from the path reselection. Transmission of a change notification to an application server controller associated with the first PDU session is initiated in response to the path reselection. Transmission of a routing update to the new gateway in response to the path reselection is also initiated. In various embodiments, the trigger may be a mobility event, a load balancing event, or operations in association with an application server controller.

  • Publication number: 20180317121
Abstract: An SDN architecture, for a cellular communications system, is described herein that includes a Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning framework to provision and manage traffic flows in the cellular communications system. The described architecture separates the control plane and the user plane for the transport of the user plane traffic. Network entities in the SDN architecture, such as a network controller, can detect and react to changes in network state (e.g., load conditions) to route or reroute traffic flows in the network. QoS and routing parameters may be determined for the network traffic on a per-flow basis, even when multiple flows are associated with a single service request.
