    Abstract: A process is described for extractive isolation and purification of Trichlorogalactosucrose from impurities from a composition substantially free from N-N Dimethylformamide (DMF) comprising a first extractive separation by adjusting aqueous to a mixture of organic solvents in the composition to a certain ratio of aqueous to organic phase, extracting the aqueous layer of this step by a single organic solvent, followed by saturation of the aqueous layer by salt and ultimately extracting TGS in the organic layer.
