  • Publication number: 20250040918
Abstract: A coaxial introducer cannula is provided for use with a biopsy apparatus. The coaxial introducer cannula may comprise a coaxial cannula and a hub. The hub may be fixedly attached to a proximal portion of the coaxial cannula. The hub may have a hub body, a latching lever, and a latch. The latch may be configured to rotatably engage a catch of the biopsy apparatus, and the latching lever may extend radially from the hub body. The latching lever may be longer than a height of a front plate of the biopsy apparatus so that the latching lever can be reached and rotationally operated to rotate the hub relative to the front plate of the biopsy apparatus.

  • Patent number: 12137887
Abstract: A biopsy apparatus includes a biopsy needle, a sample manifold, and a sample container. The sample manifold is coupled to the biopsy needle. The sample manifold has a receptacle and an insertion axis. The sample receptacle has an interior side wall and a mounting pin that projects inwardly from the interior side wall toward the insertion axis. The sample container is configured for insertion into the receptacle. The sample container includes a cap portion, a basket portion, and a hinge, wherein the cap portion is joined to the basket portion by the hinge.

  • Publication number: 20240293110
Abstract: A biopsy apparatus, including a biopsy probe assembly having a cutter cannula, a vacuum cannula, and a stylet cannula coaxially arranged. The vacuum cannula is positioned inside the stylet cannula to define a first intermediate lumen. The stylet cannula is positioned within the cutter cannula to define a second intermediate lumen. The stylet cannula is movable relative to the vacuum cannula and the cutter cannula between an extended position and a retracted position. The stylet cannula has a longitudinal vent slot. A seal has a proximal seal portion. When the stylet cannula is moved from the extended position toward the retracted position, the longitudinal vent slot is longitudinally positioned under the proximal seal portion to open a seal bypass path across the proximal seal portion to establish a first air path at the first intermediate lumen and a second air path at the second intermediate lumen.

  • Publication number: 20220387006
Abstract: A biopsy apparatus includes a piercing module having a probe drive slider coupled to a probe carrier body of a biopsy probe assembly, and has a primed position and a fired position. A nut housing has a home position and an extended position. A drive spindle is drivably coupled to a motor driveshaft, and is coupled to the nut housing. A firing spring is interposed between a motor housing and the probe drive slider. A release arm is pivotably coupled to a piercing module frame. When the probe drive slider is in the primed position and the release arm is in a latch position, the release arm is positioned to engage the probe drive slider to hold the probe drive slider in the primed position. A release slider releases the release arm from the latch position when the nut housing is moved from the home position to the extended position.
