  • Patent number: 12045624
Abstract: Facilitation of transfer of pre-operating system (pre-OS) data to a persistent store is enabled relative to an operation performed external to the OS. A system can comprise a processor, and a memory that stores computer executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, can facilitate performance of operations. The operations can comprise writing data relative to a pre-OS environment to a partition external to an operating system (OS) partition, and, in response to a reboot operation, booting an OS and transferring the data or a copy of the data to the OS partition. Alternatively, the operations can comprise, writing data relative to an updating operation to a log accessible by an OS of the system, assigning a variable value to the log, automatically searching, while operating the OS, for the variable value, and copying or transferring the data relative to the OS via identifying the variable value upon the identification.

In the described embodiments, multiple thermal components (e.g., vapor chambers, fin stacks, heat pipes) can be used to provide a dual-sided thermal energy extraction solution for a circuit board and an integrated circuit located on the circuit board. The thermal components can provide thermal energy dissipation capabilities for additional heat-generating components on the circuit board. Additionally, multiple plates can provide a compression force used to maintain contact between the integrated circuit and the circuit board, and in particular, between contact pads of the integrated circuit and pins, or springs, of a socket located on the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 12045142
Abstract: A memory image can be captured by generating metadata indicative of a state of volatile memory and/or byte-addressable PMEM at a particular time during execution of a process by an application. This memory image can be persisted without copying the in-memory data into a separate persistent storage by storing the metadata and safekeeping the in-memory data in the volatile memory and/or PMEM. Metadata associated with multiple time-evolved memory images captured can be stored and managed using a linked index scheme. A linked index scheme can be configured in various ways including a full index and a difference-only index. The memory images can be used for various purposes including suspending and later resuming execution of the application process, restoring a failed application to a previous point in time, cloning an application, and recovering an application process to a most recent state in an application log.
