  • Publication number: 20230362604
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices can be utilized to provide charging function (CHF) fallback in a 5th Generation Core (5GC). An example method is performed by a fail-open function (FOF), and includes receiving, from the CHF, information corresponding to a subscriber of a network. The information is stored in a database. Further, the example method includes receiving, from the CHF or a connected function, a request corresponding to the subscriber. The connected function is a session management function (SMF) and/or a policy control function (PCF). Based on the request, the information stored in the database is at least one of accessed or modified. Based on performing at least one of accessing or modifying the information stored in the database, a response is generated and transmitted to the CHF or the connected function.

  • Patent number: 11788385
Abstract: A downhole shut-in device includes a valve body with an inlet. An inner sleeve is coupled to an inner surface of the valve body and moves between a closed position and an open position to control a fluid flow from the wellbore through the inlet of the valve body. The downhole shut-in device includes a screen surrounding an outer surface of the valve body to filter the particulate from the fluid flow through the inlet of the valve body to reduce a quantity of the particulate in the inlet of the valve body below a predetermined threshold quantity. A method includes identifying a production fluid flow containing particulates of a size and quantity to be filtered from entering the downhole shut-in device.

  • Patent number: 11720573
Abstract: Systems and methods for intelligently pre-fetching data for input controls are disclosed. In particular, the disclosed systems and methods predict whether an input control is likely to be edited and only pre-fetches data for the input controls that have a high likelihood of being edited. This way, the presently disclosed systems and methods not only reduce latency in displaying recommended data results for input controls that are likely to be edited but also reduces the number of calls made to the backend server to retrieve the data as the data is not retrieved for all rendered input controls, but only the ones that are likely to be edited.

  • Publication number: 20230193757
Abstract: An assembly and a method for filtering a particulate from a wellbore fluid flow entering a downhole shut-in device in a wellbore are described. The downhole shut-in device includes a valve body with an inlet. An inner sleeve is coupled to an inner surface of the valve body and moves between a closed position and an open position to control a fluid flow from the wellbore through the inlet of the valve body. The downhole shut-in device includes a screen surrounding an outer surface of the valve body to filter the particulate from the fluid flow through the inlet of the valve body. Some devices also include a strainer tool with a cylindrical housing and an internal strainer. The method includes identifying a production fluid flow containing particulates of a size and quantity to be filtered from entering the downhole shut-in device.

  • Publication number: 20230177365
Abstract: Methods and systems for intelligently recommending selections for a selector control are disclosed. The method includes receiving a recommendation request from a selector control client, the recommendation request comprising a search string and a unique identifier of a user interacting with a selector control; identifying user identifiers of usernames matching the search string; retrieving machine learning features corresponding to the user identifiers of usernames matching the search string; applying a machine learning model to the retrieved machine learning features to assign weights to the retrieved machine learning features; computing recommendation scores for the user identifiers based on the assigned weights to the retrieved machine learning features; ranking the user identifiers based on the recommendation scores; and forwarding a ranked list of user identifiers to the selector control client for displaying in the selector control for selection by the user interacting with the selector control.

  • Patent number: 11661541
Abstract: In wellbore abandonment operations using recycled tire rubber, a quantity of shredded rubber obtained by shredding waste tires is mixed with a quantity of a wellbore fluid to form a wellbore abandonment fluid. A first plug of cement is flowed into a wellbore to be abandoned. After the first plug of cement has set, the wellbore abandonment fluid is flowed into the wellbore such that the wellbore abandonment fluid contacts and is uphole of the first plug of cement within the wellbore. After flowing the wellbore abandonment fluid into the wellbore, a second plug of cement is flowed into the wellbore such that the second plug of cement contacts and is uphole of the wellbore abandonment fluid.

  • Patent number: 11133945
Abstract: Techniques for allowing online charging in cases where the online charging system (OCS) is unreachable or partially unreachable are discussed herein. For example, when the OCS cannot be reached and is unable to authorize the requested services, the services can be provided (e.g., a voice communication session established between two devices) without having to wait for authorization from the OCS. Upon completion of the communication session, the OCS is contacted to report the actual number of units used during the session so that the account of the subscriber can be adjusted. In some examples, the IMS tags the CDR provided to the billing system to indicate that the OCS was not able to authorize the communication session. In this way, the billing system is notified that the OCS is to be contacted so that the subscriber's balance can be adjusted.

  • Patent number: 11050796
Abstract: A method for discovering an interface session within a wireless communication network is discussed herein. The method includes establishing an Internet Protocol (IP) packet-switched network registration between a first node of a plurality of nodes within the wireless communication network and a second node of the plurality of nodes. The method further includes, requesting, by a third node of the plurality of nodes from a fourth node of the plurality of nodes, service for a call of a mobile device within the wireless communication network. Based upon not having an appropriate interface session established between the first node and the fourth node, the method also includes performing, by the fourth node, an interface session discovery. Based at least in part on the interface session discovery, a dedicated bearer is established at the second node for the call.

  • Patent number: 10704354
Abstract: A plug assembly used in a wellbore fracturing process includes an annular housing that is set in the wellbore, and a ball that lands and seats in the housing. The housing and ball form a pressure barrier in the wellbore that isolates one portion of the wellbore from an adjacent portion. Pressurizing the portion of the wellbore isolated by the plug assembly generates fractures in a formation around that portion of the wellbore. The ball is not reactive with wellbore fluid or affected by wellbore conditions. Fluid communication across the plug assembly is reestablished by fracturing or milling the ball within the housing. Wellbore operations are conducted by inserting downhole tools through a bore axially formed in the housing.
