  • Patent number: 12495086
Abstract: Broadcast messages that each includes a conference identifier of a conference to which the device is joined are transmitted from a device. Each broadcast message includes a respective indication of an audio frame of first audio frames of an audio stream of the conference. A broadcast message that includes the conference identifier of the conference and an indication of a received frame number is received from another device that is joined to the conference. One of the first audio frames is output via a speaker of the device where the one of the first audio frames is selected using the respective indication of the audio frame of the first audio frames and the indication of the received frame number.

  • Publication number: 20250294070
Abstract: Playback timing information, including a conference identifier, is received at a device joined to a conference from co-located devices also joined to the conference. An audio frame from an audio stream of the conference is output via an external speaker of the device, with the audio frame selected based on the playback timing information to synchronize playback with the co-located devices. The playback timing information may be received over a first network that uses a one-way communication protocol, where the first network is different from a second network used to receive the audio stream.

  • Publication number: 20250247502
Abstract: A video-conferencing system that simulates depth in a two-dimensional video of a remote speaker via a parallax effect. The background of the video of the remote speaker is removed and the resulting backgroundless video is combined with a background image according to poses of a viewing participant face captured by a camera. As the poses change, the orientation of the backgroundless video and the background image are changed proportionally to yield a parallax effect. The backgroundless video and the background image are combined at the client device of the remote speaker and is transferred to the client device of the viewing participant as a multilayer video.

  • Patent number: 12137130
Abstract: A device that is connected to a conference receives broadcast messages from other devices. The device selects at least a subset of the broadcast messages. Each broadcast message in the subset includes an indication that a respective device transmitting the broadcast message is connected to the conference. The device extracts respective audio synchronization values from the broadcast messages in the subset. The device identifies, based on the respective audio synchronization values, an audio frame of an audio stream of the conference. The device then outputs the audio frame.

  • Patent number: 12052554
Abstract: A Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon packet is transmitted by a device. The BLE beacon packet includes a conference identifier of a conference and a self-clock indicative of an audio frame of an audio stream of the conference received at the device. The device is connected to the conference. BLE beacon packets are received at the device. Each received BLE beacon packet includes a received clock. The received clock is indicative of an audio frame of the audio stream at a device that transmitted the received BLE beacon packet. The self-clock or one of the received clocks as a master clock is selected. Audio frames of the audio stream are output via an external speaker of the device based on the master clock.
