Patent number: 11974722Abstract: An endoscopic device includes a handle body operatively couplable to a shaft housing. The handle body includes an actuator for controlling a distal end of an endoscopic shaft extending from the shaft housing. The device also includes a pull wire attachment configured to operatively couple to a pull wire extending through the shaft housing and the endoscopic shaft to the distal end. Applying tension to the pull wire deflects the distal end of the endoscopic shaft. In addition, the device includes a pulling mechanism coupled to the actuator and having the pull wire attachment extending therefrom. When the pull wire attachment is operatively coupled to the pull wire, actuation of the actuator applies tension to the pull wire and deflects the distal end of the endoscopic shaft.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc.Inventors: Michael S. H. Chu, Sacha Tang

Patent number: 11925315Abstract: A scope device includes a shaft, a deflectable portion, and a handle portion. The shaft is inserted through a body lumen to a target area within a body. The shaft defines first and second lumens extending along a proximal portion thereof. The first and second lumens are merged to form a common lumen along a distal portion thereof via a fitting having a structure which, when connected to the first and second lumens, converge the first and second lumens toward the common lumen. The deflectable portion is connected to the distal end of the shaft and includes a channel aligned with and in communication with the common lumen. The handle portion includes a connector having a first hub including a first channel open to and in communication with the first lumen and a second hub including a second channel open to and in communication with the second lumen.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 2020Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc.Inventors: Michael S. Patent number: 11918186Abstract: An endoscopic deployment device includes a body mountable on an endoscopic device, a communication interface, and a motor. The body has a movable carrier couplable to an elongated end effector device. The effector device has an end effector shaft covered by an outer sheath and an end effector extending from a distal end of the shaft. The sheath is sized and shaped for insertion through a working channel of an endoscopic shaft of the endoscopic device. The body has a carrier channel sized for the carrier to slide therein. The end effecter is actuatable between open and closed positions by sliding the carrier in the carrier channel which in turn slides the sheath over the end effector shaft to uncover/cover the end effector. Rotation of a drive shaft of the motor is sliding the carrier in the carrier channel and actuating the end effector in response to a signal.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2020Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc.Inventors: Michael S.
