  • Patent number: 11924646
Abstract: The disclosure describes systems and techniques for assessing risk of an open Wi-Fi network, at a consumer's request, before the consumer performs a transaction. The system receives a Wi-Fi network risk assessment request associated with a Wi-Fi network connection of a mobile device. Upon receiving the request, the system retrieves connection-related data from the mobile device. The connection-related data is associated with the Wi-Fi network connection. The system performs a Wi-Fi risk assessment of the Wi-Fi network connection. The system transmits a result of the risk assessment to the mobile device for presentation on the mobile device. The system also transmits the result of the risk assessment to an issuer server. The issuer server is associated with a payment account of the consumer. Moreover, the system transmits a step-up authentication alert to the issuer server.

  • Publication number: 20240029052
Abstract: A device and method of authentication includes pairing a card to a mobile electronic device and a wearable device. A machine learning model is trained by obtaining first received signal strength indicator (RSSI) data from the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device at calibrated distances. A first estimated proximity radius encompassing the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is calculated. The first estimated proximity radius is classified to be within a threshold. Upon receipt of a request to authorize a request, second RSSI data from the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is obtained. A second estimated proximity radius encompassing the card, the mobile electronic device, and the wearable device is calculated. Using the trained machine learning model, the second estimated proximity radius is determined to be within the threshold. Authentication is then complete.

  • Publication number: 20240005297
Abstract: A method for facilitating payment transactions includes receiving, by a server, a flash code request indicative of a transaction amount. A flash code associated with the transaction amount is communicated by the server to the payer device. The flash code is encoded into a flash pattern at the payer device and communicated to a payee device of a payee for executing a payment transaction between the payer and the payee. A first request for the payment transaction is received by the server from the payee device. The first request includes the flash code obtained by decoding the flash pattern at the payee device. The flash code included in the first request is validated by the server. Based on successful validation of the flash code, the transaction amount is deducted from a payer account of the payer and credited to a payee account of the payee.

  • Publication number: 20230214822
Abstract: A system for identifying genuine user-merchant association. The system includes one or more processors and/or transceivers individually or collectively programmed to check the validity or expiration of a certificate from a device from which a request originates to create a certificate score, analyze previous communication from the device from which the request originates across a plurality of entities and regions to create a previous communication score, and conduct a messaging protocol check to create a protocol score. The one or more processors and/or transceivers are also programmed to output a weighted final score comprising a determination of whether to accept or deny the request based at least in part on one or more of the certificate scores, the previous communication score, or the protocol score. The one or more processors and/or transceivers are also programmed to save the weighted final score.

  • Publication number: 20230206237
Abstract: A system receives a remote pay authorization request message from a first consumer. The message includes a transaction token with transaction details. The system also receives first user mapping data from a first issuer. The mapping data includes a unique ID corresponding to a second consumer (i.e., a paying consumer). The system receives a second remote pay authorization request message from the second consumer. The message includes a payment token that includes consumer payment account data. The system also receives second user mapping data from a second issuer. The second user mapping data includes the unique ID. The system determines that the unique ID is included in the first and second user mapping data. The system merges the transaction token and the payment token into a combined payment token, thereby enabling the second consumer to pay for a transaction performed by the first consumer.

  • Publication number: 20230206236
Abstract: The disclosure describes techniques for authenticating a voice command transaction initiated by a consumer at a voice-activated digital assistant. The system determine a proximity score for a consumer device. The proximity score is based on a distance between the consumer device and the digital assistant. The system detects motion indicating presence of a person proximate the digital assistant (based on wireless signal data) and determines a motion score. The system receives voice data from the digital assistant and determines a voice differentiation score. The system determines a rank score for the consumer device based on historical transaction data associated with the device. The system analyzes the proximity score, motion score, voice differentiation score, and rank score using a voice command authentication model. Based on the analysis, the system determines an authentication score for the voice command transaction request.

The method includes receiving, by a server system, a request in association with a payment transaction between a cardholder and a merchant. The request includes a cardholder identifier and information of a successful verification of a user input entered by the cardholder to perform MFA of the payment transaction. The method includes identifying user profile data stored in a database based on the cardholder identifier. The user profile data includes information of a plurality of registered user devices associated with the cardholder. The method includes performing device behavioral analysis of one or more user devices. The method includes generating an MFA token associated with the payment transaction based on the device behavioral analysis. The method includes transmitting the MFA token for authorizing the payment transaction to a payment server associated with a payment network.

  • Patent number: 11652770
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining if an e-mail originating from an external source is deemed malicious and thereby preventing an out of office e-mail reply. One example method includes receiving, at a computing device of a service provider, an e-mail identified as originating from an external source, scanning the e-mail to identify at least one parameter only when an out of office reply is setup by a recipient of the e-mail, comparing the at least one scanned parameter to a set of known parameters, calculating a score of the e-mail based on the comparison of the at least one parameter to a set of known parameters, determining the e-mail to be a malicious e-mail if the score exceeds a threshold value and blocking an out of office reply based on the threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20230060068
Abstract: Embodiments provide methods and systems for sharing a user consent associated with user consent among applications. Method performed by server system includes storing consent token associated with user in a database based upon receiving consent from the user on the first application to utilize user credential data for subsequent transactions in connection with interaction between a user device and a first application service provider. The method includes receiving a request to access the consent token associated from a second application service provider associated with a second application accessible on the user device, determining whether the second application service provider is able to access the consent token associated with the first application based on access level data set by the first application service provider of the first application for accessing the consent token and allowing access of the consent token to the second application based on the determining step.

  • Publication number: 20220277287
Abstract: Method and System for Facilitating Secure Payment Transactions A method for facilitating payment transactions includes receiving, by a server, a flash code request indicative of a transaction amount.
